I did not pay the taxi driver for the trip. He was mad, But I told him he ruined our plans big time. I had given him more then enough time to find the place and told him exactly where to go. When I showed my fiancee what he did, she was surprised as well. He really got the information wrong. Ah well. Sometimes you find a bad one. He took us to st. mary road off aurora and not St Maray's EF-COW on Aurora. (about 1 km difference)

By the way, it is actually difficult to find the place if you're looking for St. Mary's. It's actually Good Shepherd Convent that you need to be looking for. St. Mary's is just inside.

Why didn't you simply ask the taxi driver to take you to an easy-to-find major landmark? Katipunan LRT station is right next door to St. Mary's. The map is right there on the website.

Sheesh... :blink:

Lols, they're not from the area so they don't know about it hmm.. but come to think of it, it was also illustrated and LRT Katipunan station is given as a landmark on SMEF-COW website/CFO website, chill guys, you can make it. I'm also excited for Gretchen's interview. I wanna read about the review since I'll be attending mine next week. Good luck :thumbs:

You know, after thinking about this some more, I really think it was wrong to not pay the taxi driver. First, the directions given to him weren't the best possible directions. Why not give the address instead of saying St. Mary's when the place is really Good Shepherd? You said St. Mary's on Aurora and he took you to St. Mary's off Aurora. Seriously? You're angry at this guy for that little bit of miscommunication? It's not like it was only your time that was wasted. He wasted his time and his chances to make some money that he probably needs a lot more than you do. I really think you should have paid him for his efforts.

Ohh... :no::(

ONE More thing, if you left 2:15 you have plenty of time if you took LRT instead of taxi. will take you 20-30 minutes max from UN ave to Good Sheperd. Would have been cheaper too, 20 pesos per person.. No need to bother taxi drivers.. ;)

I did give him the address 1043 Aurora St. Mary's - SMEF-COW, Good Sheperd Convent, at Kampeche station and Aurora Should be next station after EDSA. The driver kept on stopping and asking for directions. He got hung up on St. Mary's road, not SMEF-COW and no matter how much I yelled, cursed, or hollered, communication was not working. Plus mahlal ko and her folks were hung up on Cebu, so I was totally frustrated trying to get anyone to understand where the heck we wanted to go.

the taxi driver did get 500 php. Nothing more. No comeback. Was very mad to pay him for blowing the plans. Ah well, water over the dam. At Least I can still get CFO done with no problems.

LOL, a boat I "promised" daddy.... hehehe.... I said I would help the family in times of need and asked if a boat would improve income. He makes maybe 1500php a week and is split with the 2 older boys. Think if how little that really is. He may see 7,000 php a month. And the worst part is they spend what they have. Do not save it. Asawa ko is learning to save. But she will see what saving actually means. Hopefully, it carries over to the erest of the fmaily.

the boats I have been suggesting they have been turning down as well. I am talking a proper fishing pump boat in the philippines, not just a "boat", so there is a lot of contention over what is appropriate and what should be. No free rides with me. they also have seen how I am this week. I walked away from a taxi driver when he would not meet my price. I would not pay a taxi driver for not going where we wanted to go. A lot of this week has been lessons to my in-laws about how I am more then anything else going on. I am planting a firm understanding in their mind on things. this week is the one week I really get to show them EXACTLY how I am.
