Visa In Hand

Hi All,

Just a quick question. My fiance (UK cit) appointment is on Sept 9. My student visa expired on Sept 21. Do you think that if I booked tickets for Sept 21 there would be enough time between the interview and flight to receive our visa in the mail? Thanks for any help in this.

Agreed - you should be all right, assuming that you don't get places into AP, they don't misplace anything, etc..... it really is best to wait 'til you have the visa, just in case anything were to go wrong. (can't say we followed that advice, but we're just thankful everything worked out)

Also, tickets are going to become more expensive the longer you wait so I think this is a risk worth taking. I had my interview on Monday and my visa is arriving tomorrow, so only took 4 days for me.

Thanks for the information . Yeah I think I am going to book the tickets and chance it. We would be leaving 12 days after the interview. I am less worried about the price and more worried about the fact that there is only a handful of seats left on the flight we want to take.

Agreed that 12 days is probably a risk worth taking. Having said that, your dates do mean that that time period includes two weekends, so it's not as many days as it looks like. Probably should be ok though.
