After filing a petition in Feburary and waiting for 3 months for approval on May 1st I got NOA2. After 4 more months of waiting for the petition to be sent to the NVC, I contacted my congressman's office here and he gets this reply from USCIS stating "A review of this case in our electronic records has revealed issues needing further research. In order to ensure we will provide your office with a full, complete, response our office will need additional time to investigate. A case will be opened on your inquiry, please allow 30 day for a complete review and response." Does anyone have any idea what that means? I have to wait another month just to find out what the delay is

I feel your pain :(

We were approved, and then had it taken back. I can't tell you anything other than I know how you feel. I would rather they never gave us NOA2 than to give it, then take it back. We can't even get them to tell us whether it is ok to re-file.

An approved petition (I-129F) then starts various security checks at the NVC and Consulate/Embassy levels. Do a search on here for Administrative Reviews which might be the situation you're in.
