youre suppose to write in pencil i think lots of ppl do that since they dont tell you.

You have two choices to write on the back of the photos.

1. Lightly in Pencil

2. Lightly in Felt Tipped Pen.

Ballpoint pen is not recommended as the pressure that is applied to write with ball-point pen passes thru to the front side and it makes the photo invalid.

I recommend the Sharpie Fine Point Retractable Marker as shown below.

Sharpie-Retractable-Fine-Point-Permanent-Markers-Black-3-Pack.jpg

Also, no you can not expedite on the basis of pregnancy.

Could you imagine how many people that apply for immigration would purposely get pregnant to enter the USA faster?

If you are really lucky maybe she will have it in Canada, think of the cost savings! In the usa it costs about $2,000 or more total and insurance won't cover very much of it . So hopefully you guys can have the child in Canada, be very thankful for being able to live in such a great country such as Canada

Sure...their health care is so good there that the PM comes to the States to have an operation done.

Oh no. We also wrote in pen on the back of our passport pics. I'm worried now :/ What were we supposed to do? I think the worse and longest part of your process is over now that you are at the NVC... i'm saying that but considering Montreal is backlogged on interviews, i might be wrong :/ But i wish you the best of luck. I know how much it sucks to be apart from your husband and with a child, i cannot even imagine.

I wrote in pen and had no trouble

hmmm that seems a bit tacky

They re-scan the pictures into their system. If the ink bleeds thru the scan or if the person that wrote on the back of it wrote with pressure and it shows thru the picture, It becomes invalid.

The key is "lightly".

That is why I suggested the felt tipped marker. If you used or the place that you got your pictures taken at used good quality photo paper, this should not be an issue at all.

Places such as Wallgreens and CVS photo centers are #######. Go to a real photo studio.

We all want to be with our other half. I'm glad for you if you managed to prevent it, apparently i was not that lucky. And we were

only asking a question so i don't see how I am not fair to all the rest of you.

You asked a legit question. No worries.

You have to treat people here as if they are on the edge of their seats ALL THE TIME, in this immigration process.

Now, if you were looking for loopholes in this process, that's a different story.

we were using protection sometimes these things just happen. we wouldn't change it for the world even if having him has made things more difficult.

Exactly. I totally agree with you here :)
