I recieved m noa2 from USCIS a month ago. Contacted NVC who said they have no record of it. They had me scan and attach approval letter and email it to them. They replied that they had recieved the copy I sent them and will contact USCIS and try to locate it. Has this happened to anyone else? How much longer can I expect to wait?

Don't worry. These days NVC lags behind a lot. I got the same message when I was waiting for the NVC to get my petition form USCIS. It took them 31 days after the approval of the petition. There is nothing to worry about, they will get it about in a month time after the approval of your petition, but never stop calling them.

Good Luck

Yea. I received my NOA2 on July 6 and they still don't have mine either. It seems like USCIS really picked up approving in June which created a bottleneck of approvals for NVC. Who knows when they will say they have it. U r not alone though.

I'm sorry to hear about your problems with NVC. I had my own problems with them as well...

This entire process is an exercise in patients so just hang in there and as the earlier respondent said keep at them via email and telephone calls

My NOA2 (July) for a K1 from the Vermont Service Center stated my petition was being sent to the Consulate. I called the NVC today and they informed me that not all Petition's go through the NVC (I thought they did.) I was informed if it stated "being sent to the Consulate" it was. Some go directly to the consulate. Did your NOA2 state it was going to the consulate?

Yes! I received my NOA2 on July,28th and it says that the petition has been forwarded to the listed consulate. I called USCIS and the operator told me that I-129F petitions are directly sent to the consulates whereas I-130 petitions are sent to NVC. I'm not sure if it's a new policy or the guy in USCIS just wanted to get rid of me!

Nope. Mine said it was being forwarded to NVC. They said they are trying to locate it. Glad to hear your petitions are moving along though

Impossible... NVC is the gateway to the consulate delivery system and is responsible to assign the appropriate consulate and new consulate case number. The USCIS has NO IDEA which consulates do or do not do the type of visa being petitioned for.

For example, if you put on your petition that you want an interview in Mexico City and the USCIS sent it there you would be out of luck as Mexico City does not do K-1 visas, only Ciudad Juarez does...

YMMV

Yea, mine said it was going straight to the consulate. I don't know if it is a new process for them to go to the consulate, but everyone's past experience is stating not. It is just disheartening to see so many people from the end of June still not have NVC received dates. I don't know if this has anything to do with summertime since the slowdown appeared in the middle of June. The worst part about it is most of the petitions on visajourney that recently have been given received dates are coming out of CSC. It is like the NOA2 quicker processing from CSC over NVC all over again.

wisjam, maybe we will get our petitions received by the time the other jamaica visajourney members who have later NOA2 dates than us, and whose petitions have already been received in NVC and Kingston, have their interviews. Someone's got to keep the humor going on this sad thread.

How do you know that USCIS has no idea about the consulates processing I-129F? Is it too difficult to have a list of the processing consulates?!!! They can simply get it from NVC.

Although I don't want to insist, but it makes so much sense to me that they send I-129F directly to the related consulate. It saves so much time for NVC and payment to DHL (from USCIS to NVC and from NVC to the consulate). After all, NVC doesn't do anything except giving a case number, which is basically useless when the designated consulate is already known.

It was also mentioned in my letter of approval that if we want, we should contact the consulate for transferring the case to another consulate, or the petitioner can file I-824 with USCIS for change of consulate. It didn't say anything about NVC. Do you still think it is Impossible?

YES, IMPOSSIBLE... NVC is the drop off "POST OFFICE" for the system to get petitions to be delivered to the consulates. The assigning of the useless consulate case number and getting it logged into the Department of State database system is a pretty damn important step

my NOA2 send it was sent to the consulate (in laos) too but when i called NVC they said that my petition hasn't been entered into NVC yet so i have to wait till it has then i can get a case number and it'll be sent to laos. so i think it's just formality that they say it's sent to laos because that is the destination but it's really going thru NVC first. don't worry i got my NOA2 july and still waiting, i'm sure we'll get our case number sometime... who knows when tho.

WE HAVE EXACTLY THE SAME EXPERIENCE. IT TOOK A TOTAL OF 32 DAYS FOR THEM TO TELL ME THAT THEY ALEADY RECEIVED IT, THANKS TO MYSELF WHO CONSISTENTLY CALL THEM EVERY OTHER DAY JUST TO CHECK THE STATUS. I AM JUST GLAD THAT I EMAIL THEM A COPY OF THE APPROVAL LETTER, I JUST DON'T KNOW IF THEIR SYSTEM IS UPDATED OR NOT. BUT KEEP ON CHECKING, CALL THEM LIKE I DID AND EVENTUALLY YOU WILL HAVE YOUR CASE NUMBER.

I AGREE WITH YOU. IT IS A PROCESS, USCIS--->NVC---> EMBASSY/CONSULATE. USCIS WILL SEND IT TO NVC SO THAT NVC CAN ASSIGN A CASE NUMBER WHICH IS DIFFERENT FROM THE RECEIPT NUMBER ISSUED BY THE USCIS. ONCE YOU HAVE THE CASE NUMBER, YOU WILL USE THIS TO FOLLOW UP WITH THE EMBASSY/CONSULATE.

Cubaqueen, They'll probably just give us a next day interview with guaranteed approval for our trouble
