Congrats to bourne25 and Heliosphan.

Updating my interview date. Its on 27th Feb @ Jackson Ave, LI. I will go through 100 questions provided in the CD. Is there anything else I need to prepare for? Please let me know any helpful information. Thanks.

From looking at your timeline, it sounds like there was a gap of about 3 months (NYC-filers) between being scheduled for an interview and receiving the interview email - wondering if you received any emails/information between these two events - any updates? I am a mid-November NYC filer and trying to handicap when should I expect my interview update.

its not only for nyc. it seems its every where.

I filed from nyc and yes I had to wait 3+ months to get my interview letter I did fp in september and got my interview letter in december

my family filed from VA and they got their letter a little early but lady at the finger printing told them it will take 90 days to get the il.

I Attended the oath cermeny at the LA convention center yesterday. A total of 5,446 new citizens. As we walked in to the convention center, applicants and guests were split into different areas of the convention center. Guests went to be seated and applicants were guided to a series of 110 lines. At each line the oath letter was stamped, GC punched with hole and everything stapled. I was in line at about 7:30AM, seated about an hour later and the ceremony started at about 9:30AM. The ceremony was nice with the singing of the National Anthem, a video taped welcome message from the president, patriotic music video and speeches from various speakers. After the ceremony we headed back to the line number that was stamped on our form to get our naturalization certificate. I was on my way home a little after 10:30AM.

I had my interview on 27th but was asked for a re-interview since I didn't have my marriage certificate. My application is not based on marriage but based on my permanent residency for 5 years. I have to go back on 4th of April with marriage certificate. Has anyone else experienced the same? Is there anything else I should take with me? I took everything under the sun, even things they probably wouldn't ask for like my SS Card.

I assume they'd just look at your Marriage Certificate now and then you'd be done though.

so sorry to hear that, I didnt know it either but read on some forum n did take my marriage certificate n i did write abt it on page 29 of this thread. may be u didnt follow the whole thread or the link i gave

Had my oath ceremony today. A completely uneventful affair. They do it 4 times a week and you could tell :lol:

Everyone just went through the motions. A warning to anyone that has the oath ceremony in the Brooklyn District Court, it's kind of hard to find when you get out the train station at Clark St and Google Maps doesn't help.

Registered to vote at the ceremony and applied for my passport right after. Next up is bourne25, hope your ceremony is a little more eventful.

why would they require his marraige cert if his wife is not a resident and his LPR was not based on marraige?

I am ssking since i will be filing N400 later this year and have a pending I-130 for my wife. I was a LPR based on employment.

why did you take your driving ticket information? was it requested at some point?

I took mine coz I read on some forum there was an interesting discussion that usually u think u never commited a crime so u r not going in front of a judge and traffic summons are indeed an order for u to appear before a judge and then again if its over 500 write them if not dont but they (uscis) know all about u and they may refuse u for lying to them and as I was doing it first time and all on my own I decided to take my record with me (since I was renewing my license and I had gotten it)

interviewing officer took it n put it in my file. so they didnt ask me but I took it coz just in case if they ask I have it n hence dont end up delying my case

i am applying for my wife too. just sent it yesterday gona find an i130 tracker for march 2012

passport time line

02/17/2012 sent/applied both card and book via normal service

03/05/2012 passport recieved in mail

03/06/2012 naturalization certificate recieved in mail
