haven't heard from uscis after upgrading i130

hey all,

i am new here..plzz help me out with my doubts..my husband filed for my i130 petition wen he was LPR on sep 21 2010...Our priority date is sep 23 2010...he became a us citizen on july 13 2011...he called uscis and upgraded the petition on the same day...the next day he emailed and mailed them a request letter and the copy of his naturalization certificate and NOA1 copy..its been two weeks and we havent heard anything from them till now...how long will it take for them to process?plz reply

I would call them again to be sure they have updated the system to reflect the change in his status...

Trevor got his naturalisation on 8 July and phoned them the same day to upgrade the petition. They didn't ask him to send anything in at that time but when he phoned a few days later to see if the upgrade had been applied they told him they had put in a service request but it would take 30 days. He received a letter a few days later confirming that the service request had been made then on 25th July he received an RFE requesting a copy of his naturalisation certificate. He sent that straight back so we are hoping we will see some activity soon. I hope it won't be long for you now either.

awww...so we are almost in the same boat i think...but i a worried because we havent even received a confirmation leter from them saying they received our documents !!! i thought they process us citizen spouse petitions faster...keeping my fingers crossed...they said they wud be able to say something only after 30 days wen we phoned them two ays back...so gonna wait for two more weeks..hopefully something will happen..for BOTH of us !!

awww but we havent heard anything....!!!!

He got an email yesterday to say that they have received the RFE response and they have also updated his status on the website. They say we should now hear something within 60 days!! Hopefully it won't be anywhere near that long. I hope you hear something soon too.

what do u mean by upgraded his status on the net?? my status says initial review....

Ours said that until yesterday (since 04/01) but now it says Request for Evidence Response Review.

OP, when youre SO sent the documentaion, did he put on the documents your USCIS file number (WAC ? if he didn't you may want to tell him to re-send with your petition's file number. when i upgraded my IR petitions for the wife and kids, i called USCIS to let them know and then faxed my naturalization certificate to them. there's actually a form that you can get from USCIS to submit to do the upgrade. the form is actually just a fax cover sheet.

but it does take a few weeks to get notification of the upgrade. if you have not called them back to check the status since submitting the request, give them a call sometime next week just to ask if the petition is showing USC petition in their system already.

If you guys received your NOA2, then you have to update petition at NVC....

Thats what I did, I just talk to NVC operator, she told me to scan my Naturalization certificate and send them through email. After sending this, I got their email after 4 business days, that we upgraded ur petition from F2A to CR1.....

07/18/2011 - NVC Received and got NVC case#.
07/18/2011 - Send my Naturalization Certificate via mail and email for upgrading my case from F2A to CR1.
07/19/2011 - Gave both emails to NVC and received IIN#
07/21/2011 - Got confirmation email about changing my petition from F2A to CR1. Up-gradation took 4 business days.

he sent all the documents including my case number..its EAC since our centre is vermont...anyways he sent everything on july 14th..including calling them...since we didnt hear frm them at all..hubby called again last week and they said to send all the docs again...hubby sent them all again and they got it on 25th june....now they said to wait for 30 days to hear sumthing..i think it wud take tht much for it to get upgraded in their system???? any ideas??
