How long to hear about visa after NOA2?

I got the NOA2 on June 7th & I still haven't heard anything from the NVC or Consulate. On the NOA2 it said after 30 days I could send them an email to check on the status. I did this but they still haven't responded.

Is it typical to go this long after the NOA2 and not hear anything about the visa?

Should of called NVC to ask for your case number then called DOS to check if the embassy has the case yet and if they sent packet 3.

NVC only keeps K-1s for about a week or less and then sends them to the embassy.

Call NVC and get the info from them.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

On the NOA2 they gave my fiance an A number & I also have a WAC case number or something. I guess if they dont email me back by tomorrow I will have to call.

You need the Embassy Case Number, you get that from the NVC. You have a whole other process to go through at the embassy before you get an interview and find out if you get the visa or not. Not calling them has kind of wasted time on your case really.

That is typically true, but in our case the petition to NVC after NOA2, was stuck somewhere in LaLa land (see timeline below). No one at USCIS nor NVC could tell us where it was. USCIS said "it was approved on 4/27...but could take 90 days for NVC to recieve", ridiculous! NVC said "we typically get them in 5-7 days, as Inky mentioned. I was asked to wait 15 business days then send a request to NVCResearch@state.gov with the USCIS case number asking them to try and locate. I sent the email on 5/18. The next day they responded saying it had been recently recieved. I called on 5/20, spoke to a CSR (do use not use automated system usually does not work for K-1's), she said they recieved it on 5/18 and it was sent to USEM on 5/20...go figure that speed. I tracked with carrier and it was recieved at USEM on 5/23.

So, it took about 1 month for ours to get to the USEM...way more than the timeleines indicate. You're already longer than that, so call first, then send the email if the CSR cannot find your USCIS number in their system. Hope this helps

same here we got our NOA2 14 June and still nothing from NVC they can't even tell if they received the file from USCIS......I'm kindda worried that it got lost or something so the CSR advised us to email the research team. Hopefully we'll hear something from them this week, let's just keep on calling them. smile.gif
