Yes, please let us know how that works out. We will be filing Alla's N-400 in a few months and she would like for her mother to live here, at least part time. Her mom is not thrilled about it but I think we could convince her. She is getting old and Alla really worries that she will be ill and Alla is not around. I understand. I like her mom and we get along great so it wouldn't bpther me and we have a spare room above the garage se[arate from the rest of the house so she could have her "quiet place"

My wife and her mother have always been best friends. Her mother is great...we've always gotten along very well...she's a wise woman, much like my wife. They are planning to sell everything they own in Ukraine (including a nice flat in a great location) and permanently relocate to the USA. My wife loves it here and both of them are tired of the way things are in Ukraine with prices constantly going higher but pay staying the same. So her mother will be looking to make a completely new start here...her own place, a job, maybe even a new man (she's attractive and still fairly young too). She went to the same English school that my wife went to but of course hasn't practiced it in a long long time...We've started having regular English conversations on Skype and she's doing well though...certainly better than my Ukrainian! Congrats on the upcoming N-400 phase! I think you'll enjoy seeing the Oath ceremony, all the new citizens who are excited, and most of all seeing Alla taking her Oath....very cool. I saw a few rare tears from Oleksandra, she was so moved by the experience.

Congratulations to both of you. Ukraine's loss is America's gain. The population of beautiful American women just went up one.

If your mother in law looks anything like her daughter you would probably find some guy more likely to want her as a partner and really speed up the process.

Happy to hear about the ceremony being nice. My wife is now planning to begin the citizenship process as she's hoping we will be able to travel to Europe some time soon and doesn't want the visa hassle. She just returned from six weeks in Ukraine and she also was not happy with the conditions in Ukraine. (Hopefully conditions will change in the future, so you might consider hanging onto the real estate for a little while longer.) My wife was in Kyiv and Odessa and said the conditions in both cities is awful. Kyiv is packed full of dangerous looking people and for the first time in her life she was afraid to walk around alone at night. In Odessa the pollution is so bad she could barely breathe.

I think the main problem in Lviv was just prices skyrocketing. The mayor has been doing a lot of stuff to bring in tourists...most of it looked pretty good. You can only deal with 25-30% inflation for so long while holding pensions basically flat. I hope Ukraine can turn things around...I'll always have a certain love for it since I spent such magical times there with my wife. Best of luck on your wife's citizenship...hope it goes fast!

Well that's just horrible. Someone needs to go over there and rescue those poor young lady's from those hooligans and pollution.
