We finally got an e-mail to say we were scheduled for another KI interview in a few weeks shy of our 1yr in AP since october 2010.

Can anyone who has gone through Lagos tell us what it is like this time around? I understand we have to do the police report again. We have however not gone back to Kamorass to complete the medical part. Will that be a problem or is it ok for him to complete it if all things goes well God willing and he is granted a visa this time around.

We have gathered all the additional documents they asked him to come back with in the 221g form.

Any ideas??

You are dealing with Lagos. Nothing is direct or obvious. Of recent couples I know one that was on extended AP and called back to a second interview and denied, I know another couple that went to the interview minus their completed medical , where given 221g for the medical and then denied the next week when they returned with the medical completed. Sometimes it seems Lagos is more of a money collection point than a visa issuing location. Make sure you have plenty of new evidence of your continued relationship since the last interview. Include the records of your trips there and continued contact.

thanks for the reply. We were however told the medical can be completed when he comes to US. I wonder why they did not tell him he has to complete it if he is still in Nigeria.

Thanks.

I tend toward gloom and doom in my posting because Lagos is so different than any other consulate. If you predict yor outcome from any other place you are under prepared for Lagos. We were denied because he couldn't disclose details of my classified employment. Second time around we were able to defect them by demanding that they fill in the proper request for access . Lagos has a history of probing past normal and denying visas

Because they are not going to approve the VISA at this time they are going to put back in AP. At this point you need to do a DOS IG request and see what is going on. They cannot issue the VISA without a current medical, so if they are telling you that you do not need medical that is not a good sign.

completing a medical means catching up on vacinations that are not complete because you have to wait a certain time between them. But the medical examine itself has to be current for them to issue a visa. If your medical is more than a year old you need a new one if they are going to issue a visa. And of the denials I know they don't fall into the the catagory you mentioned. It seems you have created a "reason" for their problem to assure yourself. That is a dangerous mindset for Lagos.

This is incorrect. The medical must be done before VISA is issued. If the medical is over a year old they will not issue VISA.

i completely agree with NigeriarBust. We were one of those couples after two interviews and AP for almost a year. They told us without even looking at any of the documents my fiance brought with him to his interview that we were denied. I agree with NigeriaorBust, go in prepared and God be with you. Have your medical completed and

Good luck, I pray that you get your visa.

We went to kamorass earlier this week my fiance has to repeat all hep b Vaccine cos it was not completed earlier this year as we were informed he can take them anytime he arrives us. But not told th( if he still in nigeria, he'll have to come back to kamorass to complete the series.

The chest x-ray film is with him we don't know if that will be repeated since it is over a year since he did it.

We are just trying to play catch up because i cannot understand why there are no guidelines to make people get prepared.

The Embassy in Nigeria is very difficult due to cases of fraud. Most of those applying dont intend to stay with their spouse once they arrive in the US. This makes it difficult for legitimate cases. The process is difficult at best and the interviewers are trying to figure out which cases are real. Sadly in my case they were wrong and gave him the visa. And they took so long with the process he has a permanent visa. They really need to fix the process for the people involved.

Balogun4ever- I am sorry you have had a bad experience with a Nigerian man. HOWEVER, it is very unfair to say that "Most applying don't intend to stay with their spouse once they arrive in the US." Some-yes, Most-no. I know many couples who have been married for many years past citizenship. Please do not give all Nigerians a bad name because you ran into one bad one.

If you have evidence of fraud, you can contact ICE at any time, doesn't matter what type of Greencard he has. Good luck.

Hi Guys...

I have a question.

How long is your Affidavit of Support (I-864) is valid?

our case is on AP for last 7 months. just want to check whether you need to provide an updated I-864 if they call for a 2nd interview?

Thanks.
