Ok. So I am totally confused. According to this http://photos.state.gov/libraries/unitedkingdom/164203/cons-visa/iv_019.pdf we are to pay for our interview on the day of the interview at the embassy. HOWEVER, I keep reading in multiple posts that we are to prepay for it or we will not even be let in the embassy. Can someone please help us in this?? I don't want to get screwed over again like I have a few times already in this journey.

Thanks in advance.

"K Visa Applicants pay the fee to the Operator Assisted Information Service prior to attending the visa interview. Instructions concerning payment will be sent to you with the appointment letter. " from http://london.usembassy.gov/immigrant-visas/iv_fees.html

Once you prepay, you will be emailed a receipt of payment that you will take to your interview appointment. They will ask you for this upon arrival.

I have read of people who have paid 'on the day' - but I'm not sure how this works :-/

On the day payments are an extra step they have been working toward eliminating since last fall. You go to the first window and turn in documents. She sends you to another window to pay. You might have to wait on somebody in front of you. You go back to the first window to give her the receipt. Then she tells you to sit until called again to go in that back room where the interview windows are.
