It does not really matter, if he wants to look at something then he has every right to do so.

Also, my husband explained that he has a memory problem. It really is getting worse from his diabetes. It's so frustrating for me. My husband doesn't even know the name of ANY websites at all let alone the one we met on. (Except probably Ebay and Craigslist. It took me all week to try and pry information out of him about the interview. He doesn't remember some of the questions asked. It's sad because there is no way for him to prepare himself for this interview, and actually we never tried to. I thought the CO would be able to see everything clearly, so we never discussed preparations. I told him if and when he goes back to write down the website we met on. I already told it to him twice this week, and quizzed him on it, and he forgot the name again. :(

Ok, enough of that subject. I'm sure everything is fine regarding this issue. I was just wondering the process of a 601 expedite is all. Thanks for all your replies trying to figure this out with me and your advice. If you have more information, that would be great too.

You are going through the Consulate that sees probably the second highest level of fraud.

Keep this in mind and a lot of what follows will make sense.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Just trying to understand the case before can dole any help. If you guys were living together for 2 years, why was he deported and he had to leave US?

From what you have posted it seems your husband has couple things to come over, overstay, previous deportation, previous detention.

Not able to remember where you met him, how you met him. That is normally a first question a CO would ask to make sure the relation is a legit relation. I can remember that even from my interview I was asked the same question when I went for interview.

Ontop of all this he is going thru one of the embassy with highest fraud rate, so all this working against him he was certainly going to be put in AP and CO was going to do some additional research.

I'm sorry, I didn't understand what you mean.

He does have AP, but not sent to USCIS. They suspended his case to do "waiver research", which I guess means they are studying his waiver packet (because he didn't know the website we met on according to the CO.) What I am figuring out is that he is looking at the waiver packet because he doesn't trust the legitimacy of our marriage before he agrees to send it off to Rome? Does that make sense to anyone, or no?

AP at Casa is not 100 percent 'sent to USCIS' at all.

MOST AP cases stay in Casa, whilst the namechecks are wrapped up, finished, elsewhere.

But that's just namechecks, aye? a namecheck can be part of AP.

IMO, he's in AP because of waiver research - he has to have some status, is either approved, AP or denied.

I missed the Rome reference, but I know it's for the waivers.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

As I had said before, my husband's case goes back 23 years. I would need to type a book to explain. He had many venues to adjust his status, but that's a VERY LONG story how he got to this point. Even the CO asked him why he waited so long to take care of this. My husband is clueless about immigration, even til now. A lot of (criminally) bad attorneys, and bad advice got him to this point. It's all in the waiver packet though.

My husband remembers how we met in person :) We only talked online once or twice. My husband takes 10 minutes to type one sentence  We spent our time on the phone, and he came to NC to visit me. My husband just isnt a detail oriented person about sentimental things. He's a simple and honest guy.

Btw, my lawyer told me she does NOT like to give her clients lists before their interview to memorize about each other. She told me not to worry about this issue. We'll see what happens.

Wow! So you think they will make a decision when he goes to the 2nd interview?

I've not educated myself fully on what Casa does, how they handle stuff, so most of what I'm putting out here is a GUESS, based on other casefiles prior to you that had one piece of yer puzzle. I've not read about a Case at Casa with all of yer puzzle pieces.

HOWEVER. DoS Hotline will know a bit about the casefile and casefile status. (# in my profile, click the girls, left panel)

Some pointed questions for DoS Hotline, tomorrow, when they are open:

1. Was casefile put in AP?

2. was AP for namechecks solely?

3. what is status of the waivers we submitted?

4. how long will it take for the namechecks to be completed?

5. how long will it take for the waivers to be enacted ?

6. can you see any indication of WHAT the 2nd interview will be about, for next week?

----

some people with 2nd interviews, have their USCitizen Spouse attend that 2nd interview. You might want to think about that, a bit, over the next 24 hours.

Hard to say. I'm a bit clueless about waiver process. Tis my lack, not yours.

Can you tell me if the waivers stuff:

1. you have approved waiver, or just the waiver paperwork to submit?

2. you were told to submit the waiver requests and forms on interview day, knowing full well the waivers will be processed after the interview ?

Sorry if you've covered this before, my sleep has been sporadic these last 72 hours.

First he would have to qualify as being otherwise eligible for a visa.

Then the waiver process starts.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Sorry if you've covered this before, my sleep has been sporadic these last 72 hours.

My husband gave the waiver packet to the CO last week at the interview, and they kept his passport and photos. The CO said he needed to read the packet, criminal check, and deportation check. (My husband is not good at relaying details, but what I understood was the reason he wanted to read the packet was because my husband didn't know the website we met on.) He gave him a 221g form stating that his case was suspended pending the receipt and review of the listed documents, and the CO wrote in "waiver research" next to the checked box that says Administrative Processing and/or Additional Clearances. Then he would call him the next week to discuss what to do. The strange part is they took the packet without collecting the fees. That scares me a little.(I have NO clue what what any of this means, and my husband asked NO questions.)

I understand your sleep issue. It's 2am and I'm wide awake.

So the answer is #2

I called DOS on Friday, and they told me I was calling prematurely. They said they won't have any answers until after the waiver goes through Rome. I'll try to call again, but is it really worth it at this point? I don't think it would be possible for me to go to Morocco on a whim. I don't think they'll call him back this week as they said. Do you think they could call back that fast? The CO has a lot of things to go over in the packet.
