Hey Guys,

Well our case was forwarded to NVC by CSC and its been 3 weeks already. I know the letter my Fiance got in the mail said 1 month but I'm still a little worried. I've been reading about roughly how long it will take for me to get an interview date and stuff like that BUT isn't your petition only vaild for 4 months!? I'm a little worried It's going to expire before I even get a chance to do my interview! I hear that once the NVC gets it they process it and it can take up to 1 month, then sending it away to my U.S consulate can also take up to a month and then the interview date.. 1 month, add a little bit extra postage time for my stuff to go to the consulate.. It cuts it a little thin, I'm just quite concerned. I've done my medical already (w/o) case number and got the Police Certificate.

AHHH!

Anyone others can maybe give me their recent timeline for NVC and mailing to consulate ect?

THANKS!!

How were you able to do your medical without a case number? I thought it had to be done at certain doctors with specific forms that they have in Packet 3?

Sorry - deviating a little from your question here, but I'm in Australia too and just wondering if I could do the same thing!

Ok, your a tad confused, i see. YOU dont get a VISA before the interview, so you dont have to worry about it ex_iring. All timelines are different, but from what i can see as directly relates to me, it is taking close to four and a half months from uscis to nvc, then nvc to interview date seems to be around another two and half to three months, making the grand total around 7 to eight months.

Anyway,if your doing k1, it is valid for i believe six months after issuance..i could be wrong, is so im sure someone will correct me

Hey Melissa,

Yes this is true, you DO need a case number for your visa medical. However this doctor I saw in Sydney, Dr. A Millar didn't require a case number lucky enough. there are only 2 doctors in Sydney I could see and I rang the other up and he required a case number. I'm not sure about the other doctors around Australia.

Thanks for your reply, but I know you don't get your visa before your interview. And yes you are correct about the 6 months AFTER the K-1 is issued. However I was under the impression your actual petition can expire if you don't take action on it in four months time. (from the date you get your NOA2) So I'm just worried from the date of my NOA2 up to the date I send away "application for interview" or whatever its called, exceeds 4 months. I could be COMPLETELY wrong however I have seen other members mention something about your petition expiring within 4 months.

Chloe stop worrying darl. Your petition wont expire at all. Your case has been sent to NVC yes? It will be there a few weeks and then sent on to Sydney. Once it gets to Sydney which should be 3-4 weeks that's all up time being at NVC and then sent to Sydney, within a week Patrick should get an email for packet 3. He will then email that to you but if you are organised you could, already have all that downloaded and done before packet 3 even gets to you. I had all that done when we were approved so when I got packet 3 I downloaded it checked all the list which I had 156, 156k x2, 1076, DS230 part 1 and 2 and supporting documents and I sent it all off the same day I got my then fiances email. Once they get your packet they will schedule and interview within 4 weeks that is standard. I got mine 3 weeks .

So what I am saying is that it has been 3 weeks so you should hear something by next week end of June. Then by the end of July if you have everything ready to send in when you get packet 3 you should have your interview. With saying that this all depends on how busy NVC is but once it gets to Sydney it all moves pretty quick. fingers crossed will be here August. Actually you have sent your 129 off the same as we did last year I was on the 22nd Feb and we got NOA1 9th March and we are approved 22nd June and I was here 4th September even though I should have been out here 2 weeks earlier but they had lost a divorce decree of my husband and we had to get that sent from US to OZ and then it sat in the mail room for 5 days till I emailed 3 times and the last time I emailed I had visa in 24 hours lol.SO sweetie you are on track and you will hear very soon. Get all your documents together and you can look that up on Sydney consulate website and get Patrick to send over the 134 and you are ready to go.(F)

Oh Dr Waks also does medical without case number well he did for me last year.

Apparently the Dr. that was in South Australia didn't require a case number either, as my darling fiance called at the end of March to book for this summer

and was told to come in the next day since Dr. Miller was retiring and was assured the exam would still be good for an interview in September. I'm praying

this doesn't burn our bums as I'm still waiting on NO2 (submitted to Texas then apparently transferred to Vermont...oh no!!) I've emailed the consulate

just to double check.. But to answer the prior ? on case number... not all the panel doctors require them as the original poster said. Good luck to all! Praying

for a speedy (or speedier than it has been) approval!

Visa is in Sydney - 8July11
Police and fingerprint check we ordered 7/7/11
Background check returned 16/8/11
Packet 3 arrived in Sydney 17/8/11
INTERVIEW... praying big time.. 13/9/11
praying for POE around 27 Sep
Wedding- 11/11/11

-------
I-751 Remove Condition App 20 Nov 2013
Bio for I-751 26 Dec 2013
RFE for all bank statements since marriage - 4/18/14 - returned 4/19/14

(smacking head - sent everything but kitchen sink AND all those as

I --silly I know-- thought only needed a few over course of marriage- NOPE-

all needed)

still waiting on 10 yr Green Card Approval as of 18 May....
