NOA2 wrongly says beneficiary is in US!

An update on our case: Next week it will be 30 days from my service request asking about the approval notice that wrongly said my husband was in the US and would adjust status. I have called several times to check the status and received drastically different answers from Tier 2 officers. One lady was very informative about the whole process and thought it was probably just a typo in which case it would have been forwarded to NVC automatically. Another very rude man said tough luck it could take months!! Both did say that I filled it out correctly by putting in the name of the embassy for Question #22 so it is 100% an error by USCIS! :bonk:

Unfortunately, USCIS is being very very slow to send things on to NVC and it doesn't look like many people who were approved around the same time as me (June 16) have been received at NVC yet either so I am still in limbo also. And I have no way to know if the nice lady was correct and NVC should be receiving it because NVC says they don't have it and can't make inquires since the official approval notice says USCIS will handle it. Ugh!!!

It is looking like I will have to resort to sending an email to the USCIS followup email after the 30 days have passed. Fingers crossed it gets resolved before that though!

03-04-11 NOA1 Email/text

03-07-11 Check cashed

06-21-11 Informed USCIS of their error: they wrongly thought we were adjusting status so they held the petition and didn't forward it to NVC

06-30-11 Expedited service request granted to forward petition to NVC

08-02-11 Congressional Inquiry to get USCIS to finally forward petition to NVC

08-05-11 USCIS admits our file was routed to National Records Center and will expedite its return and forward to NVC

08-23-11 Congressman's office informs me that file is FINALLY on its way to NVC! Woohoo!!

08-22-11 Received by NVC

09-19-11 Case # Assigned. Emailed DS-3032.

09-22-11 AOS Bill Invoiced/Paid. DS-3032 Received. Emailed DS-3032 again.

09-26-11 AOS Invoice marked Paid. I-864 Mailed. DS-3032 Accepted.

09-27-11 IV Bill Invoiced/Paid.

09-28-11 IV Invoice marked Paid. DS-230 Mailed. I-864 Delivered.

09-30-11 DS-230 Delivered. NVC operator says I-864 approved!

Yes NOA2 approved on or after 6/16 are all waiting.

USA

01/08/13 - Approved and GC is order for production on 1/8/14

09/12/13 - Case transferred to CSC. NOA2 received on 09/18/13

08/30/13 - Biometrics Done - No walk ins allowed at this LSC (received on 8/16/13).

08/05/13 - NOA1 (received on 08/10/13)

08/01/13 - Mailed I-751 (received on 8/2/13 - check cashed on 8/5/13)

12/28/11 - Received SSN (applied on 12/20/11, as we didn't get based on DS-230 options)
11/28/11 - Received Green Card (Expires on 10/30/13) - Welcome Letter on 11/17/11
10/30/11 - POE - Houston, TX

Chennai Consulate (40 days)
10/28/11 - Received Visa papers and Passport at VFS
10/25/11 - Interview Cleared Successfully (Spouse was not allowed in)

NVC: (90 days from NOA2 to Consulate)
08/31/11 - Case Completed (Interview 10/25/11) - Received at Chennai on 09/19/11
07/22/11 - NVC Case Number

USCIS: (92 days)

6/21/11 - NOA2 (NOA1 on 3/25/11) - took a month to get to NVC
3/21/11 - I-130 sent to USCIS Lockbox, Chicago.

I feel lots of sympathy for everyone who is also waiting because expectations were that things move quickly after approval. At least I know that if USCIS hadn't made this stupid mistake on our case I would probably still be awaiting delivery to NVC. :wacko:
