I used to be on H1-B work visa and it was a long long way to my permanent residency. Actually had to sue USCIS over a namecheck that was never initiated :(

Whoa, that is awful!!! You must be so relieved to be at the final stage! How long has your whole process been?

I received a yellow letter from USCIS today asking me to bring some more documents for my interview, but it is not an interview letter. Did anybody received something like that?

Can i ask what all they ask you to bring to the interview?

The common requests are related to items you checked on your application (such as cleared traffic violations, travel during the past 3 years entry/exit stamps in passport, spouse's passport/b-cert/nat-cert)

And oh, the best request I've seen is "bring your driver's license" to the interview...

The recommendation is to take enough information with you, since you are applying based on a marriage. I am going to take copies of forms I've already submitted and then some (utility bills, bank accounts, IRS returns, health insurance, apt leases, etc...)

Some IOs decide to ask for such things and if you don't have them handy, they might ask you to mail them then they will make their decision. Better be over prepared than under prepared.

Even though they ask for these items, many people have noted that they don't always ask for them...

Did you send in the tax returns, spouse B.C., kids B.C. passport copies etc? We sent all that stuff in with our application, but I thought it was kind of unclear in the application. I just sent mostly what we did with all the other applications. We also sent bank statements, health insurance info and a couple other things, I think.
