For those waiting for interview in EGYPT

I was wondering if there is anyone who's husband has had an interview lately in Egypt. Are they giving appointments for interviews? If you have had an interview has it gone well? The visa that we are waiting for is a CR1.

well, first its so frustared that embassy is foucx in dv lottery cases more than cr1/ir1 cases which is concern with families if u check the embassy interview dates since april till july its all dv ,very strange right even they said when the embassy get back to work after revulation they will start with wives and childerns but they care with dv since march .2011 we dont know what to do and no one can help ,alot of cases compeleted feb.2011 and didnt hear yet from them so sad

Our case was completed January 31st. After months of waiting, watching, hoping and praying we got our interview date finally. We got our interview scheduled for July 31st. When Ahmed finally gets to the embassy for our interview it will be exactly 400 days since we first filed for his visa, and almost 6 months since our case was completed at the NVC level with 10 days to spare. Seems to me the new wait right now from NVC to interview date is 6 months. Hang in there, believe me my husband and I know how you and all our fellow Egypt filers are feeling.

I actually contacted a lawyer about this and he found it very odd that case that were completed AFTER my case were already set up with an interview date. This is very wrong. We actually are contacting our local senators office to see what they can do. My lawyer contacted the NVC and the US embassy and they have nothing to say about this.. I decided to inquire an attorney to confirm my thoughts in which he stated clearly he found cases that were completed AFTER my case that already have interviews scheduled YET my wife and I continue to wait for an interview to be scheduled. This was brought to the attention of NVC AND the US embassy in Cairo by my attorney but they had no response to this fact. This is completely and utterly wrong is all kinds of ways and in fact I am quite outraged that this is happening. It is pretty evident that I am being mistreated by them but WE LITTLE people are always left in the dark without no clue on what is really going on. Seems like no matter what I do it has no effect. Maybe we all can try to see what is going on because something is not right here.

Same here, we are still waiting for an interview. Our case was completed on April 5th. Hoping that some of us get news after this week, so we can all have a better idea to what dates they are up to. Really sucks if we get an interview date way untill September. ((((

I just called myself 3 minutes ago. NVC said I wasnt scheduled yet but July is still open, so its a possibility. Praying some of us get dates.

Hi again, no they are not done sechduling for July yet. I was told this morning that they aren't done,that they should be by next week and to call around friday.

I saw your case was completed early February. You are more than likely to get scheduled soon. Another person completed on the end of January got a date already. Good luck to you.

Ahmed and I got our interview date in an email from the NVC on May 29th, this was the end of the month and on a Sunday. So any day of the month you can recieve your interview date. I would really expect an interview within 5 to 6 months of your NVC completion date. By the time Ahmed has his interview on July 21st, it will have been 6 months minus 10 days from our NVC completion date on January 31st, 400 days since the first NOA1. Wendy my dear I do feel your pain! It sucks to see newbies getting their dates but you are still stuck in limbo. I was wondering will the embassy ever catch up or will this long wait from NVC completion to interview date be the new norm for spousal visas???
