Question about Interview?

Ok, I am sure there are going to be a few negative responses to this, but I want to know IF it is possible or IF anyone has done it.

Can you request your interview for the I-129F to take place at a local USCIS office? My fiancee's embassy is located in another country because they don't have one in her own country. She is currently on a visit here legally. Since she is 5 months pregnant (at this time and probably closer to 7 months for the interview) I would prefer we don't have to travel to her own country, then travel again to another country to the US Embassy.

I am just asking if it is possible?

Nope.

The NVC will forward all of the documentation to the Embassy and they will process her there. She will need to go through the POE process to validate her I-94.

Sorry.

A great marriage is not when the "perfect couple" comes together.

It is when an imperfect couple learns to enjoy their differences.

No, and here is why. The USCIS is part of Homeland Security (DHS). The Embassy is State Department. Very different Agencies and not connected.

When your petition was approved, USCIS was done with you until you adjust status (AOS).

You must appear at the Embassy or Consulate.

No, you cannot request that the K-1 visa interview be transferred to a local USCIS office.........but I would suggest seeking some legal counsel, who will be able to advise you on your options that may very well surprise you :)

You can find me on FBI

Yodrak, if you look at his timeline you will see he has already received his NOA2 as of 9/8/2006 so he is referring to the Visa interview.

BTW Congrats David and Marina

David and Marina,

There is no interview for an I-129f petition.

LOLOLOL. Damn there are so many NOs in the reply that poor guy would be feeling sorry to put a post. Well ok here is an answer from my side. Yes you can apply for the k-1 visa to be held at local USCIS office but it all depends upon the law. So no harm in trying but the law says you have to appear for an interview at the local office. :D I didnt use word NO.
