USC child under 1 travelling to Canada by car

We're visiting Montreal this summer. I've researched the canadian immigration website but am still having doubts. My LPR husband has his Algerian passport and his green card. My 8 year old son and I have US passports. The baby, 10 months, does not have a passport. We will be travelling by car and it is my understanding that all children under age 16 travelling by car over a land border between US, Canada, and Mexico do not need a passport book or card. I just want verification from a real person that he will be okay using his birth certificate.

Thanks in advance.

You may need to check if your husband has to get one even with a GC but citizens of Algeria require a visa to visit Canada.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

I've already checked my huband. US permanant residents in possession of their valid green card are exempt from the visa requirement even though persons from his country usually need a visa. I'm okay on that, but I'm doubtful about our infant due to WHTI. As I said previously, I want to know from a person who may have been in a similr situation whether or not our infant child can travel to canada with his birth certificate only. All information I have found says yes. I don't want any unforseen trouble at the border.

US Green Card holders need no visa to visit Canada--but the analogous reverse is not true, if you need visa to visit US "ordinarily" you will need it to do so if you hold Canada-PR as well (prior to 2001, citizens of Commonwealth Countries with Canada-PR could visit without visa).
