OH MY GOODNESS!! THEY FOUND IT JUST NOW!!!! I am sooooooo relieved! The lady at the Senator's office was really nice to me about the whole thing too. USCIS lady not so nice.

Wow congratulations! USCIS rarely knows what they are talking about. When they face a senator they breakdown and actually get to work!

Congratulations, si man! :)

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

The USCIS says they mailed the petition to the NVC for processing. The NVC says they never got it, four weeks later.

I was told to email them a scanned copy of the NOA2 to the NVC so they can investigate it. Still have heard nothing.

Has this ever happened to anyone else before??? I'm getting a little frustrated I almost want to see if they'd let me mail them the extra copy of the petition that I have. How can they just lose it like that?? I want him here on time, not delayed!

That is terrible. Hope they find it and are able to sort it out for you.

Just another example of our incompetent civil service employees, and the system in general. The people that work for the government are for the most part (not all obviously) people who could not cut it in the corporate world. They are either dumb or lazy, or both. They could not last in a real job where there's accountability. And many of them find gov't jobs after leaving corporate/fast-food jobs. How many times do you go to social security or another government office and you see poeple sitting talking on their personal cell phones or literally doing nothing (sleeping, reclining in chair, reading newspaper, doing nails, etc). Without a doubt, the same goes on at USCIS. Those adjudicators who are responsible for clearing cases let cases sit for weeks and months without touching them. Does anybody really believe that they are so backed up that they need to take 6 months to approve a petition? There seems to be no pressure from higher-ups for them to work faster. Sadly, this is a reflection of our society. I'm only 35 years old, but I have seen a change in worker's attitudes in the past 20 years or so. The same attitude change occured in students from when I was in school. I feel scared for the future of our great country.

It's terrible that poeple have to go through such hell and long waits because of the incompetence of the system and the employees that work for our government.

Of course, Eric-Pris doesn't actually know anyone who works for the government. :bonk:

Now I'm waiting for a diatribe about all of those welfare queens who drive their Cadillacs down to the Welfare office.

Sheesh...You would think at 35 years old Eric-Pris would realize how ridiculous he/she sounds.
