Hey guys, they scheduled my interview for the 5th of July. The medical is normally the day before but the day before is the 4th of July and the Consulate will be closed. Do you guys know what they normally do in this case?

I tried to call them but they told me that i have to call the Visa office only on Tuesday but i don't have time because i gotta change my train ticket today if i don't want to pay extra money.

you don't have the medical done at the consulate. Check the portal for Italy: http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Italy&cty=Naples

"The medical takes place the day before the interview at the Istituto Varelli (Via Cornelia dei Gracchi 51/60 - very close to the Soccavo station of the Circumflegrea railway line). You have to be there at 8.15 with your passport. Be prepared to spend some time there, though in my case everything was over by about 12 noon."

The medical is done at a perceived medical facility and it us usually done before the interview....some who have to travel to the Embassy city try to do it on the same day.

Phil (Lockport, near Chicago) and Alla (Lobnya, near Moscow)

As of Dec 7, 2009, now Zero miles apart (literally)!

Yes, the medical team at Istituto Varelli will tell you to immediately go submit the exam results to the consulate. But since the consulate is closed on July 4th then just take it with you the following day (day of interview) no problem.

In my case, as well as all of those who had their med'l that day with me, have wasted taxi money because that day was an American holiday and each and every one were instructed to go submit the results right after.

Thanks everyone! And thanks Jalie, you always make me feel better! :)
