I sent in my orginal marriage cert with my I130 will I get it back or is it gone forever?

i don't think so. they only ask for a copy, because you will have to bring the original on your interview (if ever you'll have one)

All is good if you consider having a certified copy as being okay. SSA wants to see the original as proof of name change if needed. Others may want to see the original before they keep a copy of it.

I would say all is not good as your original copy is no longer in your possession and will not be returned to you.

Good luck and hopefully you will learn to NEVER give up an origianl copy of anything to anybody. Show it to them and have a copy made, but NEVER NEVER give up an origianl.

Dave&Roza is correct, you will not get the original back. Always send copies unless an original is specifically asked for.

December 21, 2023:  Production of new Green Card ordered - will be seeing USCIS again every 10 years for renewal

You can easy get a new original copy of the certificate from the county office the wedding was registered at! Me and my wife had to do this as we thought we had lost it and re ordered a new one to discover we had left the original in the car doh both of them are identical though so its ok

Its gone for ever but you can order re-prints from the marriage registry. We requested 5 originals upfront and got them, one went with the I-130.
