Saw a similar post to this recently and it was relating to incomplete vaccinations. You can read the other thread and see if it is the same thing. Everyone seemed to indicate that it wouldn't be a problem.

I don't remember the precise annotation, but my step daughter had something like that. At POE she was given a letter saying to contact the local health department within 30 days of arrival. Her case was that her TB tine reacted to 15MM, (I think 10MM is the max). Although she was not delayed in obtaining her visa, the local health department here put her on a regimen of medication for nine months. Every month I had to take her to the health department for blood work and to receive her next months pills. They said although she had no active TB, she had obviously been exposed to it sometime in her life. The nine month course of medication would prevent her from ever contracting it. She just finished the course and is very happy about that.

My wife was diagnosed with TB by her local physician and radiologist about 2 years ago. She took medication for 6 months. She went to her medical at St Luke's and had to do the sputum. Her smears (3 days), and the 2 month culture were negative. I'm thinking she will have to report to USPHS here in Vegas, but hoping it will not hold up her green card.

Hi DAn Tes,

Don't worry. I have a friend with same annotation and same POE las Vegas (poe las vegas sept 2010)she was advised to call and make an appointment with the local health department (located in shadow lane near UMC hospita). They gave her a skin test for TB, and did a 3 day sputum test same as what she did in SLMEC Manila, but in las vegas she does not have to go everyday to the health dept. they gave her 3 containers for 3 day collection of sputum to bring home and to put the collection in the ref. Then bring back to the local health dept when done. She will then be given an appointment when to go back (appointment with the local health dept physician),and to have a chest x ray one week before her appointment.with the dr. Nothing to worry she will be fine

Thanks for the info. Just talked to Tes via skype. Hoping she and the girls get on the flight today before the typhoon hits the Manila area. That could delay the flight for a day or two.

In the early 1950s when I was a little guy in the second grade elementary, our local physician was diagnosed with TB, and they sent him to what they called a Sanatorium. I think it was like an isolation hospital of some kind. They brought in a military doctor to take his place while he was gone for treatment. I was very sickly that year, and the way I remember it they were constantly testing me for TB. It was a skin test however, and that is about all I know about it. If I remember correctly they scratched the skin, put something on the scatch, and looked for a reaction. I think because the doctor contracted it in our small community of about 1000 or so people they were scrutinizing everyone to see if more people had TB as a result of being in contact with him. I don't ever remember hearing about anyone else in our community who had contracted TB. My older brother told me this doctor inflicted him with pain to try to get him to admit that it hurt. If you knew my brother you would know that he would never admit that it hurt, and this doctor went to extreme measures to try to inflict enough pain on my brother to make him say it hurt, but I don't think that doctor was ever successfull with that one. My brother would die before he would admit that he was hurting! :) After a couple of years of treatment that doctor did return to our community, and he did cut a small growth out of my little finger, but he didn't give me the same treatment that he gave my brother, so I didn't have to claim that I didn't hurt. :)
