ok today online i see they sent a request for evidence and my wife is going crazy. i didnt send any tax papers or anything with the petition so is that what it could be for or is is that asked for in another step?also ccan i send any other evidence in at this time such as adress of ex wife ect.thanks

What are you applying for?

Financials aren't required until the Affidavit of Support which is the NVC or Embassy.

Required Evidence for Petitions is really just a little bit.

If you're filing a K-1, it's wise not to call her "wife". She won't be so til the two of you are legally bound by a piece of paper, which right now not happening yet.

Wait for the RFE to arrive before you do anything.. You dont know what the issue is so when it gets there.. then deal with it.. as others have said it would help everyone respond better if you complete the timeline and visa type questions associated with the profile...
