Another question for the experienced. I am trying to plan ahead because travel to the big city is involved. The PCC is required with the NVC package. But when do they tell you to do the medical? After the embassy appointment is set by NVC? Thanks in advance to anyone who can answer.

Once you receive the letter from NVC saying your case is closed and they give you a date for your interview, then you go ahead and book the medical.

The embassy will notify you of the need for the P 3 . The medical can be done the day before the actual interview to save time & money if you have to travel to BKK to go to the hospital. The medical is completed in a few hours & the forms are given to you that day before you leave.

What needs to be done now & will require a trip to BKK is the police report. You will have to take a copy of one of the NOAs to the police to prove the need for the letter. It takes about two weeks to get the letter.

You may want to get your medical during this time in BKK.

This is all wrong. Your visa status is IR-1. You need to get this now to file with NVC.

You need to give originals for EVERYTHING to NVC for IR-1/CR-1. They'll give it back at the interview.

For this type of visa, all you'll need is the medical and police report for the embassy.

Thank you all for the information. Still waiting on USCIS for the NOA2. I guess we can't do anything until we have that. It's a long way to BKK so just trying to minimize the number of trips.
