DS 3032 - Choice of Agent

Have a question on this one folks. I am a bit confused.

I read on the website = http://www.travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/nvc/nvc_1335.html

the two steps are:

Affidavit of Support Processing and Applicant Document processing.

I know I will do the affidavit of support, already requested my IRS transcripts and will send them copy of my 2010 return. However, on the applicant document processing, is where I get confused. If my wife assigns me as the agent, is it my responsibility to gather all the documents and send to the NVC? If she requests no choice of agent and asks that all documents sent to her, then what is her responsibility ?

Any help is highly appreciated. I was excited earlier, work is taking me to Paris (flying out on 20th night)for some time, however, now its mixed feelings as I will have to wait till I return back from Paris to get all this prepared and sent to NVC.

It's not really about who has the responsibility to do stuff. It's about who they will send the mail to. I chose to give my husband's name and address on the choice of agent form so that all mail from the NVC would arrive at his US address. However, if you put an email address then most of the rest of the process will happen electronically. They will send an email telling you to pay the Affidavit of Support fees, an email telling you to pay the immigrant visa processing fees. The information on what forms/documents to send and when will be posted on the internet. So you and your wife will both have access to the information, and can do what you need to do. The fees will need to be paid from an US bank account, but you can do that whilst in Paris. In general, you are the one who will have to complete the affidavit of support and she is the one who will need to do everything with regards to the immigrant visa processing. Your trip to Paris will not delay you if you take your tax returns with you, and are happy to send it off from Paris. And also of course have your bank account details so you can pay the fees. Just make sure you tell your wife once you have paid the immigrant visa processing fees so that she knows what to do on her end.

Samay, I am curious why your petition was processed at the CSC and mine is at VSC although both our US residence is NY and both interviewing at London embassy? I assumed all NY petitioners get sent to Vermont being the closest state...anyone have a clue about this? Congrats on your approvals guys!

Hey Trojam227, sorry for the delayed response. To be honest, no idea why. But it could be that my address on the original application was a North Carolina address.
