Any ideas for hotels in the ermita area? I have looked at many but am looking for suggestions. Have seen hyatt, Pan Pacific, Sofitel, Best Western, Lotus Garden, City Garden, Manila Casino, Casa, H2O, Hertiage, Eurotel, and many, many others. SO what is your favorite and why, or was your experiance one in which you wished you had stayed at another hotel??

You can try to stay in a condo than in a hotel cos it feels like you're at the comfort of your own home. We stayed at Baywatch Tower Suites http://manilacondorental.com (unit 1606 or 1706 or 2503 are my reccommendations, preferably unit 2503). Or you may want Pearl Garden Hotel http://www.pearlgardenhotel.net/, that is a nice hotel too that I had stayed before. Enjoy your stay and welcome back to PI! :)

We stayed 2 nights and 3 days at H20 but its like a 4 star hotel so its quiet expensive. Located in the 3rd floor of Ocean Park. Its P6000+ per night without breakfast but the room is the bomb. Its very beautiful with a full glass window where you can see the Manila Bay and the busy street of Roxas Boulevard. I don't recommend it if you just want a place to stay for medical and interview since its not a walking distance to those places (though its close to US embassy)

Gran Prix hotel is good place to stay with reasonable prices. I've never been there but a friend of mine told me its great. Its just P1300 and comes with breakfast. Its close to St.Lukes and US embassy.

I booked Gran Prix for my fiancee for 6 nights (she is currently there now for her Medical and Interview ) . She told me that she is happy with the room and the service .It is close to the US Embassy and shopping Malls . Besides it provides free breakfast and have WI-Fi in the rooms (I chat with her everyday ) . It is affordble also . I booked through Agoda .

Another vote for pearl garden. It is right across the street from Pan Pacific. The breakfast was decent at Pearl Garden too.

I went to the Philippines with friends last October, and in a two week period of time we stayed at City Garden a total of 4 nights. We stayed there when we first flew into Manila, visiting her family in Manila, and spending time at the malls. We stayed there two more days when flying back from Dumaguete City, also spending time with her family again.

City Gardens was very clean and nice. The air conditioner worked well. Everything was great. The breakfast buffet was wonderful, with however much you would want to eat, and a huge variety. The staff at City Gardens was very helpful also. I didn't pay as I was the guest of my friends, but it was very nice, and I would recommend it. It is close to Robinson's Mall/Place, and also St. Lukes. I think it is in a somewhat bad area of Manila, so people need to use good judgement and be careful. There are safety concerns, but just be wise and alert as you are walking in that area.

When my fiancé visited me, he booked in Agoda and paid through his credit card. He emailed me the hotel voucher and I just presented it to the hotel staff along with my ID (I arrived before him) Just make sure you inform the hotel and give your fiancées name so they'll have a reference.

I hope that helps. :)

They didn't ask for my fiancés credit card when I check in. I just gave them the hotel voucher and I was okay. When your fiancé books for you, it'll be charge directly to his credit card. Most of the hotels now accept credit card especially if you book online. Just make you sure you inform the hotel that you'll be arriving without your fiancé.

ohhh..ill be alone when i go for my medical and interview. He wont be coming here til the day he comes to pick me up. I just think that they might perhaps still require his credit card when i check out.

Tonieta is staying right now at the Hotel Bocobo . She said it is clean and the breakfast was good. The internet cafe is expensive and poor equipment. Cost is 2000 per night for her and a friend and its walking distance to St. Lukes.and maybe a short cab ride to the embassy. She arrived after midnight so had to pay 750 pesos to the hotel from the airport using what she called airport v-hire. Other people have said a regular taxi is about 500 pesos.

Thats why you need to call the hotel that you will be arriving without your fiancé. If you check out and theres still a balance left, you can pay through cash.
