DS-230 Question

I've made about 9 total visits to the U.S. in the last ~10 years.

I don't remember the dates of my first trip, when I went to Michigan. There was also a trip long before that (I was under 10 I think - over 10 years ago) which I don't really remember at all; all I know is that I went with my aunt and uncle.

So, all my past 6 trips to see my husband (petitioner), my trip to L.A. in 2008, and an evening trip to Buffalo (also 2008) I have all the information for. Will the other two trips (mentioned above) need to be listed? Or is there an example form that would show how I can list all my visits plus a brief explanation of those two visits?

Also! I'm Canadian, and two of my trips to see my husband I got a B2 stamp. Would I list that under "Type of Visa"? I can supply original photocopies to back it up need be. And I obviously had no A# so that's that.

If you were specifically stamped B2 then I would list it

Attach a note indicating that you traveled to the US multiple times and don't remember the date but list the ones you do remember with their details

Another question:

I'll be doing electronic processing (through Montreal).. so since I haven't seen the DS-260 online (screenshots anyone?), I'm wondering if this question has the option to add more slots so you don't have to add an attached sheet when sending off supporting documents.

Try to list all of the visits to the best of your knowledge. Since there aren't enough lines, I would write on the last line something like: (Continued on attached sheet) or (Please see attached sheet). This is how I formatted my continuation sheets (use the question numbers from the form):

In the upper right hand corner, put your name, date of birth, and the form number (DS-230).

Then:

Form DS-230, Application for Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration

Attached sheet for continuation of responses

35. List dates of all previous visits to or residence in the United States.

(Continued)

[Then list the rest of your visits following the same format as the form – I made a table.]

Signature of Applicant: _____________________________ Date: _____________

That's what I did (with prettier formatting, of course) when I needed to add more info.

EDIT: Oh right, I'm not sure how it works with the electronic form, but if you do have to attach additional pages, I would go with this format, but obviously change the form name and question numbers as applicable.

Yeah, I'm figuring I'd have to add an extra sheet in my supporting documents .pdf. Nicely typed up, formatted cleanly and with an organized table. Sounds good to me.

Good news for you! The DS-260 only asks for the last FIVE visits to the USA! As long as you remember all the info for those 5, you don't need any additional sheets.

I was in the same predicament as you as I've been visiting the US all my life, and besides the last few, I had no way of knowing the dates of my visits. But thankfully the DS-260 only asks for the last 5, which is so much easier to deal with.
