i just wanted to say hello to everyone on here and this is my first post but i have been reading my ### off. this is the hardest thing of all is waiting. it has been 2 months now since i got my offical reciept number. my fiance lives in brasil and i live in florida, i have been there 3 times allready since we met in january 06. i cant wait for her to get here because the trips there are killing me with the cost of the plane fare and time off of work but we just cant stay away from each other.

It's definitely a rough trip.

But the reward at the end is amazing.

I'm sure it'll feel like being starved for months and months and finally getting to dig in ( ) to your favorite meal again.

Welcome to VJ and don't worry too much. Stressing and waiting is just a part of the process. However, now that I know you have allll this time on your hands.. why dont you fill in your timeline? It'll sure help to keep the site stats up to date. Hunt through the timelines as well - you can find filing buddies and get a sense of when you can hope to be approved.

so many replies in such a short time, thank you all. it does make you feel better knowing that there are others going through the same thing and willing to help you. i just wish my baby could be here by x-mas.

i paid a attorney but after coming to this sight i proberbly could have done it for myself because it just seems like all she is doing is giving me the forms to fill out. do any of you think its better to have an attorney than to do it alone.

I went to a Visa service here in the US, not knowing it was designed to get USCs visas for other countries, not the other way around. They referred me to a lawyer, and when the person started talking about thousands of dollars, I just kinda tuned out. Then when the person said 99% of fiance(e) visas were declined, I knew they were talking out their @$$.

I'm glad to have done the work myself.
