Should I go ahead and send my packet 3?

I got my NOA 2 on the 27th of April and called the NVC on the beginning of May. They said my case has been transferred to London 2 days ago and they sent a letter of an approval to my fiance a day ago. Until now my fiance hasn't received a hard copy of NOA 2 yet. And I haven't heard anything from the US embassy yet. I called various of number including the expensive one but I didn't get to talk to anyone cuz the line was always engaged!

The question is can I go ahead and send off my packet 3 without getting a letter from the embassy? If not what's the best way to find out about if your packet 3 has been sent?

thank you

Have you made the payments? If yes then go ahead and send your packet with the barcode sheet

I haven't made any payment yet. Can I pay on the day of the interview though? I don't want to call them on those expensive number anymore cuz its useless and waste my money. So do you think its ok to send packet 3 yes?

You need to find out where the NOA2 is because you need that for AOS. Its around 400$ to get a replacement NOA2.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

If NVC sent your case 2 days ago then it's probably still in transit. Then it can take London a couple of weeks or more to acknowlege your case. Think how long it took your K1 to be looked at. London won't be opening your file the day DHL delivers a box full of cases from the NVC to an off-site mail handling place. Have you read this on the London Embassy website?

Note: Only applicants who been notified by the Immigrant Visa Unit that a petition has been received in their name should complete the visa application forms. Forms received without the applicant's case number will be discarded.

That means don't send your things before they're ready for you. DOS can tell you when they have your case logged in. Or you can wait for the Embassy to mail you a letter saying they are ready for you to apply.

Disregard the reply you got from Karen2011 because she isn't a K1 and her CR1 process/payment is done through NVC before the case goes to London.

You will pay in advance to the embassy, but getting an interview isn't dependent on paying first.

Thank you for your kind answer Nich-Nick appreciate it. I tried to track my file by using from EXP 01 MAY 2011A to EXP 09 MAY 2011A but I couldn't find anything.

Which way is best to contact them? I don't wanna call them anymore cuz I never get to talk to anyone and I lost money on the phone for nothing. I know that I have to get a weekly code to be able to email them. Do you know which number?

Here's your DHL number 8810632795 if it left NVC May 13.

Track it by number here http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?nav=TrackBynumber

Again, it's too soon to call. Wait 2 weeks and have your fiance call Dept of State in the US at no premium fee. Your case will not be logged in at the Immigrant visa unit the day the package arrives at the mailroom in Lambeth. And you will notice there are 4 lbs. of petitions going to London in one box, so others are arriving daily too. 6 lbs were shipped the day before.

DOS (202)663-1225, press 1, then 0 to speak to a person.

Like Nich-Nick said, I suggest calling Department of State - they know more about where your petition(now a K1 application) is at than the embassy at this point.

You can't be absolutely sure about those tracking numbers at DHL unless they've only had one shipment to the UK, or DOS confirms/gives you the details.

Good luck and congrats - you're getting closer and closer :)

No, you don't send off Packet 3 until the Embassy has sent you a letter because you require the case number on the cover letter I would just wait it takes a few days between NVC and Embassy and then the posting time to you of the packet 3 instructions

NOA2 must not be required for AOS.

Though of course, submit it with AOS if you have it.

We did not submit ours. Just a written statement saying I had no record of receiving it. Our AOS was approved quickly with no problems whatsoever.

(Just in case the OP does not receive it and is worried)

1) Def wait for DOS to tell you they have logged in your case before you send Packet 3 out.

2) MAKE SURE YOU READ Nick's instruction/suggestion for London Embassy.

3) If you want to fast forward things, you should schedule your med appt now since you already have your LND number. They will get your packet 3 within a couple days of you sending it but NO INTERVIEW DATE WILL BE GIVEN until they have received your medical results!!! The Knighsbridge drs required additional exams from my fiance GP, it took a month for those test results to come out and even though our packet 3 had been received, we didn't get an interview date until the day after the embassy received the complete medical results :(
