How long to log packet 3 at embassy

Hello

Is there anyone out there who has recently submitted their packet 3to the embassy? I sent mine on 18th April, and they still haven't logged that it's been received (fiance has been calling dos every few days to check)

How long should it take?

It's been over 3 weeks, and i'm now really worried that it's been lost. Is there anything i can do?

I just want to know if it's "normal" to take this long?

Thanks, sarah

Did you send it with a delivery confirmation so you know it arrived? The Embassy may be slightly backlogged because of two long bank holiday weekends. I think the embassy takes US and UK holidays. That would be four working days they have to catch up on. I'd give it 4 weeks because of the holidays, and then try to get the email code to submit an email asking them to locate it. And you can send it all again. You did make copies of everything???? I hope??

I'm in the same boat, we've been waiting since April 8 and our Packet 3 still isn't logged either. I wasn't sure what else we could do other than keep calling to check on it, but I'll try emailing them. Can't hurt! Seems like it takes 3-5 weeks (from reading past posts) for London to log things, so I haven't started to stress too much, but it's frustrating!

Yes, i made copies of everything!!!!! But i wasn't smart enough to send it recorded mail & that's what i'm worrying about. I can't imagine waiting 4 weeks to find they don't have it and have to start all over again :(

My noa1 date was in October, so i wasn't one of the lucky ones with a quick turn around, but i didn't realise that had an impact on when they would process packet 3!

So does anyone know - They don't "log receipt" of packet 3 until they process it? I was expecting to wait for them to process info - but not to be 3 weeks later and have no info on if it's been received!

I don't know what i'd do without this site, think i'd go crazy with worry

thank you so much, it just makes things slightly easier knowing there are others out there in the same situation!

We overnighted ours and they logged it the day after they received it... might be time to call the extortion hotline and get the code to email the embassy

For those of you out there in the same situation, i have just called the helpline, and not had the news i wanted to hear:

It is currently taking 2 - 4 weeks to log the receipt of forms.

they will not issue an email code until after 4 weeks - so don't waste your time calling for one.

They then estimate 3 - 6 months to the issue of a visa.

I've spent an hour crying, and contemplating why we thought it would be a good idea to move to the US instead of him moving here, we clearly made the wrong move.

Just hope this info might help some other peeps out there

Three to six months to issue a visa after that?! That seems awfully high, even with waiting for an interview appt, having an appt, and getting the visa issued...

Sarah-- don't let your disappointment set you back. You are too close to be having regrets. Make sure you've covered everything else to get an interview assigned quickly.

__have all your interview documents in hand

__sent in DS-2001 readiness form with cover letter.

__had your medical exam

I'm trying my best not to let it set me back! It's very difficult thinking that i was "almost there" then finding out i'm not, and it could be another 6 months! I know that a lot of people on here are in the same place, being separated from the one they love, it just really sucks!

It honestly never occurred to me that it could possibly take that long, after already waiting 7 months! Looks like I won't be getting married in July now!

Thank you so much for your advice, i do have everything ready, and have done everything i possibly can. I guess i just need to accept that it's out of my hands!

Maybe i should take up kick boxing :)

It's been said before that the stuff you get told over the phone isn't very accurate. I think we'll all be hoping that is the case, it certainly is if you look at people getting processed on VJ currently

It's not going to take 6 months. That's for clueless people who don't have VJ. You are prepared and your stuff is in. Even with the Royal Wedding and all the people trying to get travel visas for summer, I bet you have your approval before June 15.

Lets get some bets going on Sarah's intercview date.

I'm all in for Friday June 10. :D

looks like the June 10th estimate was an overshot, congrats!

How long did it eventually take before you found out your medical date Sarah? We know our packet 3 has been at the embassy for 11 days but they've still not logged it, pushing back the interview scheduling, eek!

They took almost 3 weeks to log mine...and I find it very strange they told you it could take up to 6 months...Even when London was extremely busy it didn't take that long!

Keep your chin up..It will be over before you know it :)

It took us roughly 2 months after NOA2
