Confusing info

I found this on the USEM's website:

Effective May 24, 2010, all nonimmigrant visa applicants will be REQUIRED to complete and submit an online visa application form known as the DS-160 Nonimmigrant Visa Electronic Application. The DS-160 Nonimmigrant Visa Electronic Application will replace the current nonimmigrant visa paper application, Forms DS-156/157/158, and other related paper forms.

Yet, when I go to the State Dept.'s site, it says that K-1's should fill out the DS-156. Can anyone clear up the confusion? Thanks.

i think you should call the US embassy in manila maybe they change policy now ,when i have my interview last march 25 ds 160 is not accepted..good luck to your interview

Yep. Called the embassy. I was advised that the DS-160 is not for Fiancée K visas and she should bring DS-156, DS-156K, & DS-157. We're only a month into the process and are waiting on our NOA2, still. I just wanted to clear up the confusing and conflicting information.

The U.S. Embassy Manila does not accept DS-160's from K-1erz.

Instead, you will be required to submit two DS-156's, one DS-156K, and two DS-157's.

Let me know, how you did yours. I got approved May3rd and got my MNL number but have no idea if it reached the US Embassy already.

Well, I hope you started preparing all the supporting documents she'll need. If you want to know if it's at USEM already, you could call them from here at (214) 571-1600 and listen to all the options. Eventually, you'll get an option to speak to a live person.
