Chicago is just a clearing house--they will send it to either California or Vermont most of the time after they do a cursory review--final processing is not done in Chicago. Lived in Chicago myself for about 6 years awhile back--really, really liked it there!!

Before you get too excited about significantly shorter processing times, they are often an expedited case--look at the cases that took way longer than 6 months--there are a lot more of them than the ones that get done super quick. It is extremely rare for a "normal" case to get done a lot less than 5 months, although California right now seems to be a week or two under the 5 month target. Take a look at the Immigration Timelines button at the top of this page--there is a wealth of information.

I concurr!

Hey Ash---why would you expect any activity after just three months?? One of the best ways to be disappointed and stressed out is to set your expectations too high !!

If you look at the CSC statistics, they for the most part are processing December filings right now. Plan on 5 months or a little more, and then be pleasantly surprised when you finish in four and change--positive surprises are always better than negative ones !!

Best wishes in everything.

That's the spirit! We're February filers too (NOA1 2/10) and I'm not even expecting to hear from them till August.

Hello everyone at VJ. Today as I was driving home from work got a text message from USCIS. I was scared, I thought they sent me an RFE. Because after Sending my I130 I was going through the the copies and saw that i forgot to put my wifes last name. So I was thinking that was it. As soon as I got home went on USCIS website and typed my recipt number. Woohooo It said your I 130 petition for alien relative has been approved. I was so happy.

I thank all the support and info I got from the good people at VJ.

I wish good luck to all in in getting there approvals soon.

Thank you
