When does Police cert and Medial expire?

Hi, We just had our interview and we need to turn in our joint sponsors 2010 w2s, then we'll be ready to go! but I was wondering, just in case it takes longer than expected to get the w2s, when does the medical and Police cert Expire?

Our Police cert is dated May 21, 2010. Will we need to get another one anyways? or is it ok if it is expired when we enter the US? We will definitly not be in the US by May 21, 2011.

Both have a validity of 1 year from the date.

For new folks, it is not one year for every country--be sure to check with the local consulate if you are not sure.

Thanks, so do they both have to be in date at POE in the USA? Or does it just need to be approved with everything up to date? Because like I stated, looks like our police cert will expire may 21, 2011.

CR-1 / IR-1 shouldn't need them for anything after the entry to US. Since you get the green card after arrival.

Really only need a valid medical for AOS from a K-1 or you would have to have the medical all over again to AOS.

As long as the visa is printed before they expire and the consul doesn't hold it up to long and say " ohhhh sorry you have to get a new police cert and medical before we can issue it to you. " You should be fine!

Can anyone from Ireland confirm this for me? I'm still confused as to whether or not I should get another Police Cert (if it's ok if' it's expire when we enter the USA)?

It's not an Irish question, but rather a CBP question. They simply do not ask for either document when you are entering the country, although I guess anything is possible at POE.

Out of all the entires to the U.S. I have read no one has asked for the PCC.

As advised, prepare for ANYTHING, you never know what that POE officer's mood is that day...

Each of those documents have 1 year validity, that I am sure of. What I am not sure of is whether they are required to be valid at POE, I thought they are just for the approval and issuance of the visa. Now you got me worried because mine wont be valid at POE in July. I didnt think it mattered...

You do not need either your police cert of medical to enter the US. The Embassy will give you a packet that you need to enter the US and present to CBP. The police and medical certs need to be issued within 6 months of having your visa interview, which it appears you have already done.

It's not an embassy question folks--it's a CBP question--they have a good help line on their web site that I have used several times in the past

but i still need to send something in before it is approved, so my original question was.. if my police cert expires BEFORE I send in what I need to, will I need to get a new police cert? s the embasssy guy stated to me "you have a year to turn in the info, but things will start to expire"
