; OK, since Aaron and I are on our 6 month mark, we just called USCIS and put in a Service Request.

The guy we spoken to was very helpful (although he talked like a robot).

Aaron and I wrote down the next during our phone call:

* name and ID# of the guy we spoken to

* date and start/end time of the phone call

* Service Request #

USCIS also said they are progressing November 2nd filers...

Hopefully Aaron and I will hear from them within 30 days!!

(we also E-mailed: Vermont Service Center, Ombudsman and our Congressman)

WISH US LUCK!!!

I don't understand how people with middle of December Priority dates are getting approved and November still on hold.

I was reading my Senators web site and this was posted

"

. I filed a petition to bring my family member to the United States and have not heard anything from USCIS for a long time. What is going on?

A. Send us, if possible, a copy of the receipt notice from the service center that you filed your petition with, along with a brief note outlining your request. We will call the Service Center to be certain your petition is in the pipeline to be reviewed and approximately how long it will take to process. The Service Center adjudicates petitions by the priority date (when you submitted it) and is very strict about not putting one petition ahead of another. "

When I talked to officer at USCIS he stated that petitions were given to workers and not in the order of priority dates.. basically he said a stack lol

; yes, he stated they are working on Nov.2 filers.. I was also extatic when I found out they were working on October 28th filers.. But that doesn't mean anything. Most people wait for over 2+ weeks to hear anything from their Service Center.

But Aaron and I are very happy they the guy has sent our Service Request.

I imagine it's two-fold: Officers (is that their title?) are given boxes to work through - some work faster than others. On top of that, some people's applications are faster to process. Some who have tricky backgrounds or suspect data to begin with will probably take longer. RFE's will also push back an officer's processing time. Sick leave? Vacation? It is a human process sadly...

My friend processes documents for the oil spill in the gulf. He can process over 50 a day whereas other co-workers he has process only 20. If it's anything like that, the sad answer is it comes straight from luck of the draw.

My question is: In 2011, why in the world are we still sending paper documents? Would it not make a 100 times more sense from a time perspective and cost perspective to make every digital? So instead of boxes of paper, a computer is chugging away at your application the second you send it and you're relying on manpower to oversee the results instead of processing them? THAT'S the part of this process that's infuriating.

How about you? I bet you are having the time of your life with the love of your life, besides the NOA-2 approval stress!
