GUZ P3 Shortcut - Latest correct forms?

Hi -

I am planning to try to use the GUZ P3 Shortcut as described on the vjwiki ... has anyone used that lately? I want to make sure the forms I am using are exactly what they will be sending me (I mean my beneficiary) ... Do the forms need barcodes? Some of the forms have an expiry date (which I know might be the OMB date and not important) ...

Looking for someone that has recently used the GUZ forms as found on their website.

Thanks!! James

You could always study the OF-169, then compare forms from THAT formlist, see whats what.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Yes, the forms on the Guangzhou embassy website for the P3 is the same as the package they send you through EMS. You can easily fill them out and have them ready when you do receive the package.

The only thing you will not have is your case number. That comes with the P3 cover letter. You can't send the P3 back to the embassy without that case number.

The OF-169 is slightly different now. They don't ask for a copy of the bio page of your current passport.

SmileSunShine,

I downloaded OF-169 and read in the second paragraph:

Complete and send the enclosed form DS-230 Part I, Application for Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration as well as this document (Form 169) together with a copy of the bio page of your current passport.

The file name is "Form OF-169 - K Instruction -Aug_ 10.pdf"

Are we looking at the same file?

Thanks :)

The one from their website is older I guess. The one received didn't request the copy of bio page of the passport. I suggest wait for the real one to come in so you know for sure what they need you to present.

GUZ IV will take any 'current' form, so if you get it off the USCIS or DOS website, it should be current.

Yes thanks, of course we have studied the OF-169 and know exactly which forms and info they want... the question is, are the forms found on the websites the exact same (or good enough) as they will send in the package.

Yes, the forms on the Guangzhou embassy website for the P3 is the same as the package they send you through EMS. You can easily fill them out and have them ready when you do receive the package.

The reason for the question is that I will send my forms back to GUZ *before* they send me the package of forms to fill out. That's the point of the shortcut.

The only thing you will not have is your case number. That comes with the P3 cover letter. You can't send the P3 back to the embassy without that case number.

The case number is the one that is assigned by the NVC (the GUZxxxx number) ... that can be requested by calling NVC (unless I missed something big).

Thanks,

James

James,

How did it go? Did your fiancee send her P3 (forms downloaded from consulate website) before receiving actual P3 from the consulate?

I'm very interested in how this worked out for you.

Thank you,

Bobby
