change of address - is it worth it?

Quick question: my husband has just bought a house and will be moving there soon. He currently lives with his parents a few miles away and there's no problem getting mail there even after he moves.

We are on the last stretch of the USCIS stage - expecting to get our approval within 2-3 weeks (if things go well). So is it worth changing the address with USCIS now? Maybe it's better to just notify NVC once our papers get there?

Thanks.

I have a question regarding change of address too. Was just about to make a topic but saw this one.

Basically, I'll be moving (more space for my wife!)in 2 weeks time. So, this will potentially be AFTER an interview has been scheduled at the consulate. From my side, I can simply file a change of address form, but what does my spouse need to do at the interview (seeing as mines' is her intended residence in US on the DS 230)? Note that unlike the OP, I need my mail NOT to go to the prior address.

USCIS requires by law for you to update them on where you live, not just for mail reasons.they need to "keep track" of us all  but they wont allow you until you actually move. I did it the day I moved.

If I recall you can call in a change of address (this is what I did) and I suspect that chance is effected in their system immediately for the generation of notices. Also if USCIS is updating you via email, that won't change. I received the email notice of approval first.

I forgot to put the RFE in my timeline but after my evidence was sent in I think my approval was about 4 weeks later, if that's the sort of timeline you're thinking of.

At least when I called USCIS everyone I talked to was always very helpful about making sure NOAs get to the right place. :) (Was especially funny when I called in change of address twice to the same second address.. woo stress! ;) )

I've since called the NVC and USCIS to get info straight from them.

NVC basically said simply call them when the move happens, and that the interviewee should bring it up at the time of interview (since the address on DS-230 will be wrong by then). Other than that, AOS agreements require you to file the change of address with USCIS (I-865) as Canadian mentioned.
