I see several people stating they received their biometrics appt but are choosing walk-ins. Can this be done at all USCIS centers? (we would go to the one stated on our biometrics letter) Do we just bring what is need based on our appt letter? Reason asking is I have some days off this week and wondering if we could keep things going by doing the walk in? Is there anything I should be concerned with? Thanks

Not at all USCIS Centers. Which centre is your appointment scheduled for? When provided, members can provide thier experience about that specific location, because rules vary from location to location.

Hi Debbie,

I think it is up to the discretion of each location.

My husband received his bio-metrics appointment last friday 04/15/2011. This morning he attempted to do a walk-in and he was denied.

My guess it was because it was early in the morning, and so appointment people to be taken care of (there was quite a few) or just simple this office does not allow walk-ins.

I told my husband that he should try in the afternoon maybe they have less people!

some center won't , some centers will allow it,best to go in the mid week, bring your appointment letter, your picture ID green card, or passport, optinal bring a copy of your marriage if your name was changed you my not need it but bring it any way. finger prints and photo taken should be finished in 20 minutes, good luck.

Anyone had success doing a walk-in biometrics appointment in Orlando? I'll take a half day off work if I must but I prefer to go on my Friday off, if possible.

Kenwood Michigan is our USCIS office on our Biometrics letter.

Successful walk-in biometrics in Philly!

My Journey:

We met through a study-abroad program in Shanghai, China in August of 2009

We got engaged March of 2010

I received my K1 VISA in 6 months (June-December 2010)

We were married 04/02/2011
I received my conditional 2-year greencard (AOS) in 2.5 months with no interview (April-June 2011)

Our son was born 02/03/2013

I received my masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology 04/17/2013

I received my 10-year greencard (ROC) in 3 months with no interview (March-June 2013)

My husband returned from deployment 06/20/2013

My naturalization journey took 4 months (April-August 2014)

I became a US citizen on 08/01/2014

Received passport in 3 weeks (regular processing)

We didn't do a walk-in but, when we went for the scheduled appointment, there were a total of 2 other people there. I can't say for certain that they'll do it, but they seemed really nice and I can't imagine they'd have a reason to send you away if they're not overly busy. If you live close to the office, it can't hurt to try as you'd only be out a little time and gas. And, if you live far away, you could always say "We live far from here and were passing by. Any chance of getting biometrics taken today?"

Also, from what I've observed, walk-ins don't always speed things up. Sometimes the (approved) application is waiting for the biometrics to complete the process and sometimes the (walk-in) biometrics are waiting on the application to be approved.

Succesful walk in today too!! Biometric only toke like 10mins.! we had it at Gardena and people wee nice too! ^_^ Glad another step is done and the real waiting time starts now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
