Lol. Shoes are off, slippers on. Bought 2 shoe racks last week. Even my two teenage boys are being compliant with this. 1000 t.c. sheets in the bedroom, not getting rid of my spagetti pot though. It'll work well for borsht too. Walkin on air.

You also need a "duvette" cover for the quilt. It is a pain to put on, but I admit it is easier than trying to wash a quilt. The quality sheets are pricey but we bought two sets just after Alla arrived and nearly three years later they seem like new. I kept my pots and pans but Alla brought her Ukrainian enamelware when we returned from our first trip back. She cooked up a fresh big pot of borscht Thursday. I ended up building a ;itt;e entry are in the garage with a closet for coats and shoe racks. I wish we had one of those houses with a "mud room" Alla never heard of such a thing but one of our friends has one and she thinks it is just "perfect"

note to self when buying house get mud room.

Alla also loves her "work room" (utility room) I built in the basement. There is space for some wire drying racks for her sweaters and a folding table for clothes (literally, just a folding table for a folding table)ironing board, etc. In our first house the washer and dryer were in a closet and that was OK (because she HAD a "machine for wash" and a "machine for dry")but this is much better!

Our garage door opens into our dining room and she has suggested converting the dining room into a "mud room" :o and then dividing the larg living room into a living room/dining room but not before I build a family room in the basement.

And I distinctly remember having the conversation before she came that we "will always be doing something on our house, some sort of improvement" Her response then was "Seems kind of stupid, why do people do that?" Now she goes out to Lowes and says she is going "homeowning"

Now I started thinking which room we can convert into a "mud room"

I have the "work room" though, similar to one that Gary described, am I supposed to be happy? (that's my room, my fiance HATES doing laundry... good thing he loves cooking  ).

I'm going to love the "computer room" when I redecorate it the way I like - that's for sure :innocent:

She also has "her room" which is a glassed in porch/greenhouse/sunroom where she has her computer, desk, a sofa and it even has it's own "powder room" with toilet and sink. That is her room for studying and storing all her plants over the winter.
