I just got my NOA2 notice today. It said something about how you should allow at least 90 days to contact NVC if the beneficiary has not received any correspondence yet. What does this mean??

This is my understanding of NVC for the beginning. Please correct me if needed.

Get Case Number.

They should have the USCIS number in their system 1-2 weeks after USCIS approval. Continue calling NVC to check. When system recognizes case number, talk to a human representative and get NVC case number. Give USC and Beneficiary emails to representative.

DS-3032.

Then you need to email the DS-3032 to the NVC. (Also how does that work with a "barcode strip" needing to be placed on the top of both USC and Beneficiary pages...rather, how do you obtain that?) OR are you supposed to email the DS-3032 after they have contacted the beneficiary? (And how do they contact the beneficiary--email or mail?)

Then you move on to paying the AOS and IV Bills and sending in those packages.

Thanks for all your advice and answers!

Yes, you understand the process correctly. They are just covering themselves with the "allow for 90 days" bit.

The key to navigating NVC is to be proactive. Good luck! good.gif

The barcoded sheet you need is available after you pay the fees at the NVC payment portal. Print it out and then mail it in (or scan it in if you're doing electronic processing) with the proper packet (AOS barcode with AOS documentation; IV barcode with visa application).

If you don't get any RFE's (which I hope you don't) then you can get out of NVC in two more weeks or so- it took 20 days for my case to be completed so don't worry! I think you will be together for your anniversary! NVC is quick. :star:

Soba, why don't you just use the template as referenced above? Just copy and paste it into your email to NVC and then fill in the appropriate information.

We used the template and put in our NVC case numbers and names etc...emailed from BENEFICIARIES email and copied my email...put on the subject line your NVC case number and RE: Choice of Agent DS 3032

We emailed and two days later received an email saying they accepted it and then emailed me all the documents because he chose me as his choice of agent...
