I'm not saying it's impossible, but I believe it's close to being that way. It's tough because the Fiancee Visa is intended for immigration purposes even if it's not an immigrant visa. The consulate will have a hard time giving a temp visa to someone who is intending on immigrating to the States. Temp. visa's are given on the bases that the applicate has strong ties or reason to return to there home country. It would be hard to prove this given there intentions with the K-1. Also, it's been tried on VJ many times before and failed.

But remember...... who am I?

good luck!!

Really, it seems to depend on what country you are from. For example: There are a number of countries who participate in what is called the Visa Waver Program (VWP). Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure Mexico (the country listed on your profile) doesn't participate. The Visa Waver Program allows nationals from certain foreign countries to enter the U.S. without a visitor's visa and stay less than 90 days. I've heard from a couple of people on these forums, including myself, who have used this process for visits during the time of the K-1. Usually, they only ask the purpose of the current visit and how long you're staying.

Alternately, and probably safer though, is to go visit them in their country.

Good luck.

It's not impossible - many have done it but most of those already had a tourist visa in hand prior to starting the process and were only dealing with the potential issues at the border.

In Mexico there is more than a four month wait for a tourist visa interview date. Your I-129F will be approved by then so probably not worth the effort.

Good luck.

waiting_4_tragedy,

I agree with kitkat. It's usually not impossible, but it is often difficult. It's only impossible if you don't try.

Form DS-156, $100, and a good and true understanding of your situation and how to present it properly.

I would think that it would be impossible. Unless you come from a VWP country, or a citizen of Canada, I would tend to think that no Consulate in the world would issue a B2 tourist visa knowing that there is an application in progress at one of the Service Centers. If you already have the B-2, then you could take your chances.

just my opinion

I finally got rid of the never ending money drain. I called the plumber, and got the problem fixed. I wish her the best.

I wanted him to visit here because I'm working a lot and in college full time and I know he would like to come back here for a while :) Any time I get off work I visit him, but it's only for 4 or 5 days at a time. I figured if he would be able to come here we could spend more time with eachother. I'm going there in Oct. so I guess there's no point in trying to get him over here until his Fiance Visa is approved.
