Or is my passport sufficent enough?

I don't want to get a rfe and delay us any longer than we have been.

If you use your birth certificate, be sure it's the "long form" of your birth certificate - which likely includes mother's name, father's name, mother's place of birth, father's place of birth, etc.

Some people send just their birth certificate, some people send just a copy of their passport. Some people have received an RFE having sent either one. We sent both my birth certificate and full copy of my passport with the hope that doubling up reduces the risk of a potential RFE for this aspect of the petition.

Good luck!

I recommend sending both and copies of all pages from your passport .. It sure can't hurt JMO

3. What Documents Do You Need to Show That You Are a U.S. Citizen?

A. If you were born in the United States, give USCIS a copy, front and back, of your birth certificate.

B. If you were naturalized, give USCIS a copy, front and back, of your original Certificate of Naturalization.

C. If you were born outside the United States and you are a U.S. citizen through your parents, give USCIS:

1. Your original Certificate of Citizenship, or

2. Your Form FS-240 (Report of Birth Abroad of a United States Citizen).

D. In place of any of the above, you may give USCIS a copy of your valid, unexpired U.S. passport issued with a validity period of at least five years. You must submit copies of all pages in the passport.

You can choose which document you want to include in your application.

read the instructions closely... if for use as proof of citizenship then one or the other will be accepted. You don't need BOTH

YMMV

Understand you don't need both. But if you have easy access to both.. It sure won't hurt to send both.. I plan to send both and more just for CYA purposes
