Questions on Montreal Interview and Required Documents

Yea we saw that location and did notice that it's closer by about 5 km but the Brampton location was more convinient for her. Did you get your passport back yet? We are planning her entry in US no May 8th and hopefully that's enough time for her to get her passport back after her interview on 26th (which is 8 business days)

I've been keeping a spreadsheet going of how long it's been taking Canadians to get their passports back from Montreal. It seems like, on average, it takes 6 days. Although, that's TOTAL days, so it'd be about 4ish business days. You should get your visa back in time.

The important word is "should". It could be sooner, but it could also be later. I just checked my spreadsheet, the longest I've found so far is 19 days, about 13 business days. And the shortest I have (not counting next-day pick-ups) is 2 days. Hopefully yours (and mine!) are closer to the 2 days yes.gif

Hmm...I live in North York as well. There's a pick up location in Markham (30 Micro Ct, Markham, ON L3R 5N1) This might be closer for her.

Ugh I just realized it should be 95 Micro Ct for Markham location. Sorry my brain isn't working today. :bonk:

Ahh.. this is so nerve wracking.

My wife's interview is tomorrow and she left with my mother-in-law about half hour ago from Toronto on a bus. I hope I sent her all information required..and enough proof of our relationship and of my financials :P

One thing I hate is that her cell phone plan charges $$$ for incoming when she's outside the GTA area..so we cant talk much today or tomorrow :-/

Hoping it's a quick easy interview..and no administrative processing (She's Canadian citizen now but was in India till 2005). I hope to drive up come back down with her on 5/8.

Thanks.. I know I should not worry too much.

First marriage for us both, no criminal records, I make enough so no need for sponsors for financials, a US citizen marrying a Canadian citizen.. it's a simple immigration case.

Grats! kicking.gif Keep us updated on when she gets the visa back!

Yes, they keep everything for their records, so it's normal. The only things you should have gotten back was originals, that's it.

They kept the original police certificate and the original employment letter.. that's why I was concerned. They told her that she should get her visa back in 3 to 4 days.. but then they kept the two original documents mentioned. Would that be in anyway signs of a possible AP?

PS: Where do I check DHL information for tracking? http://usvisa-info.com/ ?

When I meant originals, I mean only birth and marriage certificate. Police certificate you wouldn't get back and neither would you get the employment letter. It's not a certificate or anything that you need in the future, like a birth or marriage certificate.

And yup, it's the same site as when you signed up for DHL. Just follow these instructions: http://csc.public.s3.amazonaws.com/waybill_instructions_en.pdf

Appointment Information

You currently have no appointment scheduled.

The "you currently have no appointment scheduled" is no problem as all CR-1's are scheduled through NVC so it does not show up on the dhl site.

However there should be application information?

did you guys pick the dhl location etc?

Did you or she enter all application information when she signed up?

Mine had my name, passport number and a reference number I believe.

I wouldnt be very concerned about Ap, she will probably be fine, my only concern is that she is originally from india correct?

Yea she was born in India. Moved to Canada in 2005.. and has been a Canadian citizen since about a year and a half.

Her original appointment was for March 6th, but we had rescheduled it to today since she was in India on March 6th.

I just logged in again.. and now it is showing her info under "Applicant Information" and ""DHL Information". Weird. But I guess it's all good now since it's working.

Now to wait and hit refresh atleast once an hour to check whether the DHL tracking number is there or not :P
