Hi all,

Im not at this stage yet, but I am a little confused (maybe due to a lack of reading on my part), but so it is my current understanding that there is a fee for the medical (a fee for the actual appointment and then any shots you must get), but then there is another fee for the interview/visa?

Questions:

1. When you pay this fee (before or after medical)...i think definitely before the interview correct?

2. To whom do you pay this fee to (us consulate in london....department of state over here in the states)?

3. How much is this fee?

4. Can you pay via credit card?

5. Does it matter who pays the fee...the US citizen or the fiance?

I think thats it for now.

Just curious... :luv:

You need to look at the US embassy site in the UK and it will tell you all you need to know. Each country is different as to procedures but then yes you pay for the medical your vaccinations should be up to date if you had them at school and you can get your local doc to do a serology test to see which ones you had and may need. You pay for the visa unless your fiance has agreed to ad you pay for it in the UK.

Divorced !st November 2012.

Married only 2 years 1 month

Hey there:

You pay for the medical AT the medical appointment (at the conclusion of your appointment). I don't think they take Visa Electron cards - so make sure you have a normal Visa, or another card. The link off the US Embassy, London web site is helpful. See it here: http://photos.state.gov/libraries/unitedkingdom/164203/cons-visa/iv_medical_letter.pdf

Go to your GP and try to get any jabs you might need. Knightsbridge Doctors is far more expensive.

Medical is 200 pounds.

But also - check our this site here: http://london.usembassy.gov/immigrant-visas/medical-examination.html It's got all the details about the medical
