It takes usually several days for them to receive your medical results... soo.... it you had the medical on the 7th... today would be 6 working days, so no need to worry.

Best of luck in getting your date on Monday or later today!

(Edited for a typo :) )

Okay, thanks for the advice. So I sent my forms back, including the DS-2001 form on 11/3/2011 and had my medical on 7/4/2011. My fiancee called the DoS again today and still no interview date has been set...is this normal?? Looking at others timelines, it seems that I should have my date by now. Getting very anxious! Will have to wait till Monday to call now seeing as they are not available on weekends.

As for the attire, I was planning on just dressing normally, I mean, they aren't gonna be looking at the way you dress right?

Oh also, can I ask what date you sent your packet 3 forms back to the embassy? I.e. the package containing DS-2001 :)

Well...Rang the DoS today and found out my interview is scheduled for June 6th at 9am. Why is mine so late??! Other people with a similar timeline to mine have either just had their interviews or have them soon...I still have almost 2 months to wait! Is there anyway I can move it forward?

did you include your wedding date on the DS-2001 cover sheet? When is your wedding?

I've heard you can 'bump up' the date of your wedding to get them to potentially expedite your interview.

I did. I told them it was on August 18th (which it is). I know that June 6th is still in good time, but I would have preferred it earlier just in case there's a problem.

If my wedding is August 18th, when do you guys think the best time for POE in the US? assuming I pass the interview.

I'm guessing they put your interview off because they knew you had 4+ months until your wedding so June would be fine. That way they could give earlier dates to those needing to be there sooner.

AW thats a shame.. didnt you read Nich Niks guidelines? I think this shows for future people if you do bump up the wedding date thing a bit it definately works. I told em mine was May 4 or something. Ah well on the plus side you have more time to prepare and save money.. The latter being something I could have done with more time to do!! all the best.. time will fly in..

I have heard these guidelines mentioned so often, can you please direct me to them? I fail at finding them and they will come in handy come AoS time.

My weding isn't until August 18th and I wasn't planning on leaving to the US until mid June anyway, so a June 6th date is fine, I just would have preferred it earlier to put my mind at rest and allow for any problems...which there shouldn't be.

These Nich Nik guidelines will help in the future if I could just find them...

Actually, I have a question.

If our wedding is on August 13th, which it is, and I tell them on the DS-2001 that it's say, June 25th, if they ask me in the interview, I obviously have to stick to the June 25th date.

Will it cause any issues to bump the date up on the form?

Tell them whatever date you like. The interview guy probably isn't reading your cover letter. It was a scheduler who picked your interview date. K1 marriages are normally up in the air anyway. Changing your mind on a wedding date isn't a deal breaker. It's an easy, easy interview. Example--You know how some people get all uptight about the interview and start practicing naming all the cousins and childhood schools and favorite colors?? (Well maybe some consulates need it). But there was a British guy a couple of years ago who got asked "how many times have you been to the US?" "Ummmm... a lot" was his answer. The point is, be that laid back and enjoy the very short chat aka interview.

Thanks NN.

Got my Vaccination records form back from Knightsbridge, so I take it that they've forwarded my results to the Embassy now.

There's a few things on the form that confused me, but as far as I can tell I am good now for vaccinations.

I'm just about to mail in my DS-2001 - I notice it says send in form DS-230, but since they already have my DS-230, I won't send another. Or maybe I will, I haven't decided yet.

I hear two months can go by after sending in the '2001 before getting an interview, so bumping up is definitely something I will consider - I haven't booked airline tickets yet for me to fly out, and they are going to be SUPER expensive. I hope the cost of flights doesn't sink this whole thing ;)

I think a June wedding seems nice :innocent: :innocent: :innocent:
