Is there a list of countries that get higher scrutiny in the visa process? I have seen a few mentioned here on VJ. Is China considered a higher fraud country?

The poorer countries and those on the terrorist list, where the foreigners are highly motivated to cheat their way into the USA. Specifically, China is one of them but on the low side of "high", IMO, as compared to Nigeria, Pakistan or Vietnam.

Are beneficiaries from certain places within China being scrutinize more than others?

Thanks.

China, Mexico

then

any MENA country where (this is case specific) the UScitizen is female, 10+ years older than male foreign spouse/fiance.

Ghana, Kenya also

Unsure about Vietnam and HCMC, been reading lots of stuff about it, still unsure if pegged as high fraud or if the Consular Officials are just incompetent.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

I would say Ghana, Nigeria and Pakistan would be the top tier of high fraud countries.

The second tier would be the Philippines and MENA countries.

China would be the third tier specially Fujian province which is considered an high fraud province.

This is spooking my wife and I a little. We are just now getting ready to submit our I130 and were feeling confident until some recent posts on high fraud countries. Is the extra scrutiny more about certain profiles? Our situation is that I am older than her, not the other way around. She is mid forties and a professional (doctor), owns two homes in Beijing free and clear and has a very good job she will be able to keep after moving to the US. I have visited her several times in China and we have traveled to Japan, Malaysia and The Netherlands (she was turned down a few years ago before we were married for a US tourist visa and doesn't want to try that again - she says it was humiliating). Any advise beyond the info in the Guides for the I130 that can help us avoid unusual scrutiny of our application?

Thank you!

ah - that's different, then

1. EOR - http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=260331&view=findpost&p=3995116

2. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=218775&st=0&p=3324240&hl=Rusticentry3324240

3. GUZ IV red flags - http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/234971-red-flag-list-for-visa-denial/page__hl__appointment

so - prep yer EOR, have yer evidence ready, handle yer red flags on initial I-130 submittal,

and

resubmit all plus new stuff with the DS-230 (see http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/267559-usa-is-now-arizona/page__view__findpost__p__4100571 )

GUZ IV is one hard sumb|tch, but if yer casefile is COMPLETE, prior to interview day, and an ConOff reads the casefile prior to interview day, in toto, then you'll not have any issue.

Oh Casablanca always gets left out. And Guayaquil, Ecuador is up there, too. I have heard that China is tough, but I doubt it needs months of studying and preparation like Casa, or for the USC to fly there and be present like Guayaquil, or the grace of God, like Lagos- in order to get a visa.

duh - Totally forgot about Casablanca.

IMO - there's two biggies that can kill a Casa visa app

1. USC Petitioner not muslim and

2. USC Petitioner is female, 10+ years older than the foreign husband.

there's other bits to that, like 'not meeting the parents' and 'parents not know of the marriage' and 'home visit reveals marriage to cousin' but ...

I'd rate Casa at #2 for attempts, China at #1, Mexico/Cuidad #3, all based on numbers or percentages. YMMV, greatly.

I would actually switch MENA and Ghana. Much easier to get a visa from Ghana than MENA. The rates for AR/AP are much higher in MENA than Ghana. Ghana tends to give out more second interviews with a basic guarantee for a visa when the beneficiary returns for the interview than in MENA where they go through the standard AR/AP.

Also, the rates for returned petitions in MENA is higher than in Ghana.

EEw.. that's nasty.

What the OP asked is a perfectly valid question, if one is concerned about preparing for extra scrutiny. You should probably ask a few similar questions yourself.

Darnell,

Does this apply to k-1 as well? As I recall, k-1 beneficiary sends DS-230 in package 3 to Guangzhou consulate. Does it mean I can send my fiancee more evidence to include in her package 3?

Thanks :)
