Hi, I (US citizen) filed an I-130 for my husband (overseas) at the end of November and finally received an email update saying "we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN." According to the uscis.gov website we are in the post-decision activity phase. What forms and info can we start preparing to get a headstart? I'm also confused about the interview. Will we need to go to an interview eventually - the little timeline on the uscis case status section (with the round circles) skipped over alot of the steps. I'm abroad with him now - will I need to go back to the states at any point for an interview or can I stay here with him until he gets the actual visa and can come to the US with me. I assume he'll have to go for some sort of interview at our local consulate.

Thanks!

Read the Guides (top of each page here on VJ) for more information.

Yes, the beneficiary has to pass an interview to be granted a visa.

Are you able to satisfy the requirements for the I-864 Affidavit of Support?

Thnx. yeah - I have no problem with the affidavit of support. I'm still curious as to why all the steps depicted as circles were jumped over on the uscis.gov site. Also, will I have to go back to the states at some point for an interview, or is it just my husband who will need an interview at the local consulate? I'll try to get started on some of the forms in the meantime.
