So you have a woman at work and another one that you're going to see next month? Sounds like trouble!

oh that's ok, from what i understand the one at work is the aunt

What is a koan?

that's kano ... as in Ameri(kano)

Ah, ok. Thanks, John. Geez, no offense to the OP, but his grammar and spelling is atrocious. I was thinking English must be his second language?

ok , sorry about the misunderstanding , i though some filipinos would understand what i was talking about better , by using the words i did . so , what i am saying is that the filipino men at work , talk bad about the me and the filinpo women that i talk with and i will see her next mo.(oct.) . the woman i met was at work and we get along very well , me and her family , that is . im just questioning why the filipino men hate on me for what i belive is my wife to be .

Ah, ok. I wouldn't pay any attention to those jerks then if they don't know her personally. I'm a bit weary though when it's an aunt or a family member making the match - they often aren't very good at it. Good luck with meeting her there and hope you both will have enough time to really get to know one another. Just don't buy into any stereotypes about pinays - it's all bunk. Everybody is different.

So he tried to get with the aunt but that didn't work out so he's trying to get with the neice? And he's considering marriage? Sorry to say this, but it sounds like he just needs to get laid!

umm from what I understand, he became friends with the aunt and then the aunt mentioned that she had a niece and set them up

But they "did things together" for 4 years!

My wife is from the Philippines and is considerably younger than me but every day she makes me feel like a king. I can't believe how affectionate, warm and caring she is. She actually helped me take care of my grandson over the weekend and is so wonderful with children, I was amazed. I am sold on Filipinas and think they are just about perfect!

I'd disagree...they are perfect, not just about :D

Firewalker,

Are you Pinoy? It sounded like you said your white, but your written English is like Pinoy.

I was married to a Pinoy for 5 years. There is a reason for only 5 years. Free ticket. Don't let me discourage the rest of you though, but basically the stereotype that is today associated with Asian's and "free ticket" originated from the Philippines.

Speaking direct....There are Pinoy's that are extremely "fried chicken", "stiff faced" about everything and would take milk from your child if you they could. On the other hand, there are those that are very good people.

As far as the other Flips talking ####### about you, GET USE TO IT...PINOY's talk like radios amongst one another. Pinoy men generally are very hostile to other races taking thier woman. They may act like it is not a big deal, and maybe even try to be your friend...all the while they could be trying to sabatage the relationship. Be careful of a pinoy that smiles and agrees too much with you.

This may sound very far out there for you all to take in, but believe me...it is the truth.

I may sound bitter coming from someone who hasn't the experience I do with Pinoy people, but I am not bitter, I only speak from my own experiences. Any one else need advice, you can PM me...otherwise I'd rather be PC on this forum about all this.

Steven_and_Jinky,

That's one possible interpretation. Another is that he wants to limit his respondants to those who would understand the culture involved by using lingo that only they would understand so as to minimize the amount of useless speculation he gets in response.

Yodrak

ok , well ...lets see how to start .....lets go from the top . i met a pinay woman where i work , and we did things together and spent time together (i like her) . i met her shortly after she got to the states , its now been about 4 years . anyways , afetr time she said i would be good for her niece . i was unsure about it at frist , so , she e-mailed me , and we talked , mostly at frist by e-mail , now i call her 1 time a week and we ym and e-mail alot ( yes , i belive god has my wife ) . so , now to my question . some people know about me and her (shes in the phil. steal) , and the few pinoy men that are young (21-28,oh,im 37 years old) like to say that she may Divorce me when she gets here or they always ask me to make sure , and 1 tells me give her a baby to make sure she dont go . is it comman for the young men to ..well hate and discourage koan's from marrying ?

What is a koan?

I'm not really sure why you are assuming we know what you are talking about. .....

so , now to my question . some people know about me and her (shes in the phil. steal) , and the few pinoy men that are young (21-28,oh,im 37 years old) like to say that she may Divorce me when she gets here or they always ask me to make sure , and 1 tells me give her a baby to make sure she dont go . is it comman for the young men to ..well hate and discourage koan's from marrying ?

We have heard, of course, of people marrying an American (or Kano) for a ticket to ride to the US (by the way, these freeloaders are not limited only to Filipinas). Your friends must have heard only of the bad stuff that these women do. Ask them if they know of Fil-Am couples whose marriages have been successful. I’m sure they know a lot of them but don't want to tell you about it. My cousin for one is a Filipina married to an American and they've been happily married for 11 years now. Just follow your instinct and gut feel. Use both your head and your heart when you decide if you want to be with her for the rest of your life. Your friends don't know your girl, they don't even talk to her. Listen to advices but you don't have to heed them.

I'm a bit weary though when it's an aunt or a family member making the match - they often aren't very good at it.

My future father-in-law was our “matchmaker” in a way. He was the one who convinced his son (my fiance) to look for a Filipina wife. His Dad worked in Saudi Arabia and he saw how happy his American friends were with their Filipina spouses. He saw firsthand how Filipina wives treat their husbands. Yes, as Jasman said, we treat our man like a King (as long as our guys treat us like a Queen, with respect, that is). It took my sweetie seven years and three trips to the Philippines before we finally found each other.

Yeah, Jasman! Thanks for the vote of confidence!

I'd disagree...they are perfect, not just about :D

Wohooo, another vote! Thank you guys!

So what are you waiting for Firewalker? Get on that plane and meet her. If sparks fly, then go for it, if not, then look again.
