Hi, Hi, Hi,

From all the I-129F directions I have read, guides, and forum posts (except for one??) I have read it does not say anything about the beneficiary needing to send in copies of a passport or birth certificate (except for name changes). My fiancee does have a passport. Should we copy it and send it in just for the heck of it? We did read one forum post on another website (visa4thai.com) that said a copy of the passport was required.

We are closing in on the day when we will send off the I-129F...so happy.

Thanks for your help,

Eric

No identification of any kind for the beneficiary is required with the I-129F package. From the beneficiary you will need passport style photos, a completed and signed G-325A, and copies of any divorce decrees (if applicable). The passport won't be needed until the interview.

A copy of the US citizen's passport may be provided if it's being used as proof of US citizenship.

Yes, name change document and translation, I believe, should be sent with the G-325A, especially to explain the "All Other Names Used" column on the G-325A. But the beneficiary's passport and all are only required for the consulate.

Case Transferred to US Embassy in Riga Latvia at the end of October.

If you really want it, you'll find a way!

Unless your proof of having met in person involves meeting in a country that was not your fiancee's, then you do not need to submit copies of her passport with the initial petition packet. Sometimes, if the couple met in a third country, it is beneficial to submit copies of both passports to prove you were in the same country for at least one time within the last two years of submitting the petition. By doing this, you would show evidence that would help prove the meeting requisite.

Best wishes! (F)
