Leafgal, I feel happy for you! Is this yellow letter the interview appointment letter? Now you know your application is "alive" eh? :star:

Yes, I hope to hear something from mine too. I think it's too weird being on initial review (unless as you said there's no update) but in your case you got email saying something different and in my case I got nothing. So not sure if I should be worried. Maybe I should post this question on the forum so other members could also share some experience (since this thread is only visited for us, April filers, I believe.

Yes it is nice to see some sort of activity. And no I did not get an email update, so I am just checking daily well actually about 18 times a day lol. I know your going to have success soon too.

I have the same question...what is this yellow letter that some people talk about here? I haven't received any yellow letter...just white paper with the interview appointment.

The yellow letter is a list of things to make sure to bring to the interview. Weird thing to me is I sent it all in with my application to begin with so not sure why I have to take it as well, but that is ok. So be glad if you don't get one lol,but no big deal if you do.

K-1 journey, AOS/EAD and ROC in my timeline

2011 April 7 - Cheque cashed

2011 May 5 - Biometrics (letter rec'd via snail mail April 15)

2011 May 9 - Placed in line for interview scheduling

2011 June 13 - Rec'd yellow letter (no change in status online)

2011 June 23 - Rec'd text that my case has been scheduled for interview

2011 August 1 - Interview (rec'd via snail mail June 27) PASSED

2011 August 3 - Rec'd email that my case has been scheduled for Oath

2011 September 1 - Oath ceremony (rec'd snail mail Aug 5)

2011 September 1 - All done, yeah.

can someone tell me what is the yellow letter for please? and who should receive it?

Only some people receive a "yellow letter" after, or sometimes before, they receive their scheduled interview letter. The "yellow letter" is to inform you to bring additional documentation to your interview. There is no need to worry, just follow the instructions in the letter.

We got something like that, Form N-659 "Naturalization Interview Checklist". All the "or" words from the N-400 instruction are pretty much replaced with "and" words, and they want original documents.

The form N-659 is different than the "yellow letter" ( I don't know if the yellow letter has a form ID number ). The form N-659 is a generic list of original documents to bring to the interview, the "yellow letter" is a more specific request.

Yes, I hope something changes. I don't have patience to check so many times. Maybe I will try 1 or 2 times a day then. lol :star:

So about the yellow letter, some people receive a white one right? So this white one would be just the appointment letter with no more evidence requested?

I was fingerprinted on 05/16 and I knew I would be rejected, as the lady was unable to get a clear print!! Next day I called the FBI and they informed that my fingerprints were indeed unreadable!!

I filed my N-400 on 04/19/2011 , still waiting for 2nd fingerprint letter! Any suggestions?

You could call the USCIS and see what they say. Maybe you can contact the ASC and see if they can redo the fingerprints again using your old appointment letter.

You need to contact the USCIS and they will open a case to the local office. I applied on April 22nd and i didn't receive the FP letter, so i called them on and they asked me if it passed 30 days since priority date, i said yes. After that lady on the phone and gave a Case # and said that she send a request to the local office and they should contact you within 30. A week later i received FP letter in the mail.

I agree with nab400... I also called USCIS for my PF sched...I sent in my application on 4/26, it was over a month and I didn't receive any Biometric appointment letter. Two days after I called them, they sent me the letter which I received 6/9 for 6/15 sched. (thanks for the 5 day window). I walked in early on 6/10, got my FP and on 6/14 my status changed to inline sched for interview.

BTW, I just came back to VJ after 2yr. break...finally was able to update my timeline! Anyone please add me to April filer's list (don't want to mess up the organized filers list). Thank you, I appreciate.

Same exact problem here! My biometrics was on May 23rd and no second letter until now (I'm sure my fingerprints were rejected). Do we have to wait a month before calling them?

Lisa and Phil I am hoping you hear something soon for sure. I know how anxious the process is. I did get my yellow letter today, but my status has not changed online either.

What yellow letter? Is the interview letter different for some people? The one I got was the regular "green" color for all the notices.
