How long can you hold off the interview...

Hey there!

As I mentioned in one of my earlier posts, due to lack of communication etc. I now have to obtain a police check with fingerprints. Our P3 is getting mailed out this week and to my sadness (I can't believe I am saying this) Montreal seems to be moving much faster. Like booking interviews one week later faster. From what I heard from the RCMP, my police check can take up to 6 months to process. I already have a police check without fingerprints to go along with my court record to bring to the interview, but I decided to go back and get the one with fingerprints just to be safe. Is there anyway that we can not book the interview until I have that last bit of info, or will our application expire?

Thank-You!!

I got my fingerprints done and police check back in a month. Go get it now and hopefully you'll have it back before the interview. Otherwise, can you not simply delay the sending of your P3?

PS - if you are in Toronto, I went to Jane and Bloor to get mine done. quick and painless

Good luck

Perfect! I will try and take a day off of school to go there. I don't live too far from T.O :). Thank-you. I am really hoping that it won't have to come to us delaying the P3 :/ *crosses fingers*

I still see Montreal booking in July. Sure, some people have taken advantage of cancellations, but Montreal is moving at the same pace.

I am hoping that it moves slowly.... but not too slowly :). I just checked and it had an interview 4 days from now. Wow!

That is the first one available, but there are probably 10 days available in April, and another 10 in July - you are free to rebook without penalty, so don't worry if you need more time. I think it only expires if you don't do anything after you get your NOA2 - if you send them your P3 paperwork, you'll get an automatic extension.

When I did My finger print check it took a total of 60 days and that was from the date I sent it in the mail to the date it was in my hands. You should probably be ok. :)

You shouldn't need the RCMP one unless you have a record and need fingerprints done. the one Krikit posted works great. Also i believe if you show up to your interview without it but show the receipt for paying for it, they will just ask you to send it to them as soon as you get it. which will delay when you get your passport back.

If no other solution works (i.e going to Toronto personally), then 60 days is not bad at all!! Thank-You!! :)
